Curtis Hamilton (ice Hockey)
Curtis Hamilton (born December 4, 1991) is an American-born Canadian professional ice hockey forward. He last played with the Manchester Storm in the British Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL). Hamilton previously skated for the Graz 99ers in the Austrian Hockey League (EBEL). Hamilton was selected by the Edmonton Oilers in the 2nd round (48th overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. Playing career Hamilton was born in Tacoma, Washington, but grew up in Kelowna, British Columbia when his father, Bruce owned the Tacoma Rockets (which relocated to Kelowna in 1995). Prior to turning professional, he played major junior hockey in the Western Hockey League (WHL) with the Saskatoon Blades. On April 18, 2011 the Edmonton Oilers signed Hamilton to a three-year entry level contract. 2010 NHL Entry Draft
The 2010 NHL Entry Draft was the 48th NHL Entry Draft, held on June 25–26, 2010 at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, home arena of the Los Angeles Kings. This was the first time Los Angeles hosted the NHL Entry Draft. The Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL), sometimes referred to as the British Elite League or, for sponsorship reasons, the Viaplay Elite League, is an ice hockey league in the United Kingdom. The Oklahoma City Barons were a professional ice hockey team in the American Hockey League (AHL). The team's first season was 2010–11 AHL season, 2010–11. They played their home games at the Cox Convention Center, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The Saskatoon Blades are a major junior ice hockey team playing in the Eastern Division of the Western Hockey League, formerly the Western Canadian Hockey League (WCHL). The Western Hockey League (WHL) is a major junior ice hockey league based in Western Canada and the Northwestern United States. The Kelowna Rockets are a major junior ice hockey team based in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada. The Rockets play in the Western Hockey League (WHL), out of the Canadian Hockey League (CHL). They play their home games at Prospera Place. The Rockets have won the WHL championship four times and have made it to the Memorial Cup finals three times, winning once. Tacoma Rockets
The Tacoma Rockets were a junior ice hockey team in the Western Hockey League (WHL) from 1991 to 1995. They played at the Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, Washington. The Rockets were granted as an expansion franchise, and were named after the defunct professional team of the same name. After the 1994–95 season, low attendance forced the team to move to Kelowna, British Columbia after only four seasons, where they became the Kelowna Rockets. While the Rockets drew high attendance numbers when they played the Seattle Thunderbirds, they did not draw as well with other teams. The Tacoma Dome was not well-suited for hockey as the risers for the seats were too shallow, making the sightlines bad for hockey.
