Consumers United For Evidence-based Healthcare
Consumers United for Evidence-based Healthcare (CUE) is a coalition of health advocacy consumer groups interested in evidence-based healthcare. It was formed in 2003. CUE provides leadership to other efforts aimed at involving patients in the research process, strengthening the voice of consumers in healthcare research, which has been called for over two decades but which has not always been successfully implemented free of commercial influence. By creating opportunities for networking and learning, similar to those available to health professionals, CUE members can be empowered and have an ongoing source of information and tools about health issues of concern. This would, at least in theory, give the member groups an edge in advocacy activities. Since its establishment, CUE members have been asked to testify on national committees, contribute letters to the biomedical literature, sit on national professional society steering groups and advisory panels and many other contributions ...

Circular Unitary Ensemble
In the theory of random matrices, the circular ensembles are measures on spaces of unitary matrices introduced by Freeman Dyson as modifications of the Gaussian matrix ensembles. The three main examples are the circular orthogonal ensemble (COE) on symmetric unitary matrices, the circular unitary ensemble (CUE) on unitary matrices, and the circular symplectic ensemble (CSE) on self dual unitary quaternionic matrices. Probability distributions The distribution of the unitary circular ensemble CUE(''n'') is the Haar measure on the unitary group ''U(n)''. If ''U'' is a random element of CUE(''n''), then ''UTU'' is a random element of COE(''n''); if ''U'' is a random element of CUE(''2n''), then ''URU'' is a random element of CSE(''n''), where : U^R = \left( \begin 0 & -1 & & & & & \\ 1 & 0 & & & & & \\ & & 0 & -1 & & & \\ & & 1 & 0 & & & \\ & & & & \ddots & & \\ & & & & & 0& -1\\ & & & & & 1 & 0 \end \right) U^T \left( \begin 0 & 1 & & & & & \\ -1 & 0 & & & & & \\ & & 0 & ...

Commercially Useful Enzymes
Commercially useful enzymes (CUEs) are enzymes which have commercial uses. Microbial enzymes have well-known applications as biocatalysts in several areas of industry, such as biotechnology, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, etc. Metagenomic data provide a unique resource for discovering novel commercially useful enzymes (CUEs) from yet unidentified microbes belonging to complex microbial communities in diverse ecosystems. Classification A set of 510 CUEs was manually curated using publicly available information and classified into nine broad application categories based on their function. By comprehensive homology Homology may refer to: Sciences Biology *Homology (biology), any characteristic of biological organisms that is derived from a common ancestor * Sequence homology, biological homology between DNA, RNA, or protein sequences *Homologous chrom ...-based mining of ten diverse publicly available metagenomic data sources, several novel CUEs, homologous to those in the set ...

Cue Bid
In contract bridge, a cue bid (also, cuebid or cue-bid) is either a bid of the opponents' suit, or "slam seeking": a slam-investigating bid made during an auction's later rounds that shows control of a suit. Traditionally a cue bid is "slam seeking", but in the early 21st century the usage appears to be giving way to ''control bid''. Bid of the opponents' suit After the opponents have bid a suit, a cue bid of that suit is normally intended as a forcing bid. It shows interest in contesting the contract and asks partner to describe their hand. Immediate cue bid An immediate cue bid is made directly over opponent's opening bid. Traditionally, it denotes a hand unsuited for a takeout double. For example, after RHO opens 1, a hand such as would prefer not to double for takeout, because partner might make a penalty pass. A cue bid of 2, as traditionally used, would be appropriate: it tends to show great high card strength, probably with a hand pattern unsuited to defense. Partner is ...

Cue Stick
A cue stick (or simply cue, more specifically billiards cue, pool cue, or snooker cue) is an item of sporting equipment essential to the games of pool, snooker and carom billiards. It is used to strike a ball, usually the . Cues are tapered sticks, typically about 57–59 inches (about 1.5 m) long and usually between 16 and 21 ounces (450–600 g), with professionals gravitating toward a 19-ounce (540 g) average. Cues for carom tend toward the shorter range, though cue length is primarily a factor of player height and arm length. Most cues are made of wood, but occasionally the wood is covered or bonded with other materials including graphite, carbon fiber or fiberglass. An obsolete term for a cue, used from the 16th to early 19th centuries, is billiard stick. History The forerunner of the cue was the , an implement similar to a light-weight golf club, with a foot that was generally used to shove rather than strike the cue ball. When the ball was ag ...

Cue (search Engine)
Cue (formerly Greplin) was a website and app that pulled information from online accounts to present an overview of a user's day. Company info Cue operated by linking various user accounts belonging to a registered individual and running a query search for keywords within those applications or accounts. For example, someone may have wanted to use a single search feature to check their Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter accounts without signing in and checking each one individually. Cue acted as a desktop search, indexing online social networking accounts, and thereby creating a “Personal Cloud.” Cue offered a free version that allowed users to add a certain number of accounts, while a paid version allowed users the option to "unlock" other sources and get more index space. In 2011, Cue raised $4 million in funding from venture capital firm Sequoia. Their premium services were $5 per month, which included 500 MB of extra storage space, and $15 per month for an additional 2&nbs ...
