Erik Robert Jimmy Jansson (born September 17, 1985) is a Swedish singer and songwriter. At Melodifestivalen 2020 he set a new record for the amount of competing entries by a composer at one contest with six entries. Music career Jansson's music career began when he formed a rock band, The Poets, with some of his friends in 2001. That same year, they were chosen to compete in Melodifestivalen with the song "What Difference Does It Make," but did not make it to the finals. In 2003 Jansson was a reality show contestant, Fame Factory, on TV3 in Sweden, who released in 2004 his first single, " Godmorgon världen," that reached No. 1 on the Swedish charts although he did not win the show. Axel Schylström (born 24 February 1993) is a Swedish singer. He first came to prominence in 2015 while competing on season eleven of '' Swedish Idol'', where he placed fourth. In 2017, he competed in Melodifestivalen 2017, with the song "När ingen ser". Life and career Early life Schylström was born in 1993 in Norrköping. In 2012, he was involved in a serious accident after climbing to the top of a train and coming into contact with power lines. Melodifestivalen 2018 was the 58th edition of the Swedish music competition Melodifestivalen, which selected Sweden's entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2018. The competition was organised by Sveriges Television (SVT) and took place over a six-week period between 3 February and 10 March 2018. The format of the competition consists of 6 shows: 4 heat rounds, a second chance round and a final. An initial 28 entries were selected for the competition through three methods: an open call for song submissions, direct invitations to specific artists and songwriters and a wildcard given to one of the artists that participated in the ''Svensktoppen nästa'' competition organised by Sveriges Radio P4.
