Cruelty And The Beast
''Cruelty and the Beast'' is the third studio album by English extreme metal band Cradle of Filth. It is a concept album based on the legend of the Hungarian "blood countess" Elizabeth Báthory and features guest narration by actress Ingrid Pitt in-character as Báthory, a role she first played in the Hammer Horror film ''Countess Dracula'' in 1971. It was released on 5 May 1998 by record label Music for Nations. The album, while positively received, was noted for its poor production by fans, critics and members of the band alike. A remixed and remastered edition, titled ''Cruelty and the Beast – Re-Mistressed'', was released in November 2019. In November 2021, during an AMA with Dani Filth on reddit, it was revealed that the track, "Bathory Aria" was the track Dani was most proud of out of the band's entire catalog. Cradle of Filth are an English extreme metal band formed in Suffolk in 1991. The band's musical style evolved originally from black metal to a cleaner and more "produced" amalgam of gothic metal, symphonic metal and other metal genres. Robin Mark Eaglestone (born 1976) is a British musician. Biography He was the bassist for the Heavy metal music, metal band Cradle of Filth. Also known as Robin Graves, he joined Cradle of Filth in 1992 as 2nd guitarist for the recording of the ''Invoking the Unclean'' demo then later changed to bass for the ''Total Fucking Darkness'' demo. He was with the band until 2002. Eaglestone is currently, working on his own project, Imperial Black. Daniel Lloyd Davey (born 25 July 1973), known professionally as Dani Filth, is a British singer who is the vocalist, lyricist and founding member of the extreme metal band Cradle of Filth. He has a five-octave vocal range. Personal life Daniel Lloyd Davey was born to Susan Janet Moore and Laurence John Davey in Hertford and is the eldest child of four. He married his wife Toni on 31 October 2005 in Ipswich. The couple have a daughter, Luna. Filth and Toni have been separated since 2018.
