The Women's 15 kilometre free competition of the Cross-country skiing at the 2018 Winter Paralympics, 2018 Winter Paralympics was held at Alpensia Biathlon Centre, South Korea. The competition took place on 11 & 12 March 2018. Medal table 15 km free visually impaired In the cross-country skiing visually impaired, the athlete with a visual impairment has a sighted guide. The two skiers are considered a team, and dual medals are awarded. Paralympic cross-country skiing is an adaptation of cross-country skiing for athletes with disabilities. Paralympic cross-country skiing is one of two Nordic skiing disciplines in the Winter Paralympic Games; the other is biathlon. Competition is governed by the International Paralympic Committee (IPC). Oksana Masters (born June 19, 1989) is an American multi-sport Paralympic athlete of Ukrainian descent from Louisville, Kentucky. Having primarily specialized in rowing and cross-country skiing, she won the first ever United States medal in trunk and arms mixed double sculls at the 2012 Summer Paralympics in London. She was also a part of the U.S. Nordic skiing team at the 2014 Winter Paralympics and the 2018 Winter Paralympics. Mia Zutter (born July 16, 1999) is an American Paralympic athlete who competes in Nordic skiing in the B3 classification. She made her Paralympic debut at the 2018 Winter Games as part of the United States team. Early life Mia Zutter was born in Fridley, Minnesota, on July 16, 1999, to Michael and Jennifer Zutter. In 2011, Mia was diagnosed with Stargardt disease, which resulted in the loss of her central vision. This was shortly prior to her seventh grade at school. She had already been involved heavily in running at the time, and continued to do so with the aid of a guide.
