Cross-country Skiing At The 2022 Winter Olympics – Men's Team Sprint
The men’s team sprint competition in cross-country skiing at the 2022 Winter Olympics was held on 16 February, at the Kuyangshu Nordic Center and Biathlon Center in Zhangjiakou. Erik Valnes and Johannes Høsflot Klæbo of Norway won the event. Iivo Niskanen and Joni Mäki of Finland won the silver medal, and Alexander Bolshunov and Alexander Terentyev, representing the Russian Olympic Committee, bronze. Summary The defending champions are Martin Johnsrud Sundby and Johannes Høsflot Klæbo, with Klaebo qualifying for these games. The silver medalists, Alexander Bolshunov and Denis Spitsov, as well as the bronze medalists, Maurice Manificat and Richard Jouve, qualified as well. Competitive cross-country skiing encompasses a variety of race formats and course lengths. Rules of cross-country skiing are sanctioned by the International Ski Federation and by various national organizations. International competitions include the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships, the FIS Cross-Country World Cup, and at the Winter Olympic Games. Such races occur over homologated, groomed courses designed to support classic (in-track) and freestyle events, where the skiers may employ skate skiing. It also encompasses cross-country ski marathon events, sanctioned by the Worldloppet Ski Federation, and cross-country ski orienteering events, sanctioned by the International Orienteering Federation. 2021–22 FIS Cross-Country World Cup
The 2021–22 FIS Cross-Country World Cup was the 41st official FIS Cross-Country World Cup, World Cup season in cross-country skiing (sport), cross-country skiing for men and women. The season began on 26 November 2021 in Rukatunturi, Ruka, Finland and was scheduled to conclude with the World Cup Finals on 18–20 March 2022 in Tyumen, Russia. But after the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, Russian invasion of Ukraine FIS announced that the World Cup Finals would be cancelled or moved. As a result, the final competition was the mixed team events on 13 March 2022 in Falun, Sweden. Graham Ritchie (born 23 September 1998) is a Canadian cross-country skier. Ritchie trains as part of the National Team Development Centre Thunder Bay team. Career Graham trained with the National Training Development Centre (NTDC) in Thunder Bay, Ontario, while beginning a career in the outdoors industry as a sales representative and equipment technician at Rollin' Thunder Bike, Board, and Ski.
