The women's 10 kilometre cross-country skiing event was part of the cross-country skiing programme at the 1952 Winter Olympics. It was the first appearance of a women's cross-country skiing event at the Olympics. The competition was held on Saturday, 23 February 1952. Twenty cross-country skiers from eight nations competed. Holmenkollen
Holmenkollen () is a mountain and a neighbourhood in the Vestre Aker borough of Oslo, Norway. It goes up to above sea level and is well-known for its international skiing competitions. Overview In addition to being a residential area, the area has been a ski recreation area since the late 19th century, with its famous ski jumping hill, the Holmenkollbakken, hosting competitions since 1892. Ildegarda Taffra (30 June 1934 – 7 December 2020) was an Italian cross-country skier who competed in the 1950s. Life She was born in Tarvisio. Fides Romanin (12 November 1934 – 23 October 2019) was an Italian cross-country skier who competed in the 1950s. She was born in Forni Avoltri. She competed in two Winter Olympics, serving as flag bearer for the Italian team at Oslo in 1952. Romanin finished 17th in the women's 10 km in Oslo.
