Croatian Bureau Of Statistics
The Croatian Bureau of Statistics ( hr, Državni zavod za statistiku or DZS) is the Croatian national statistics bureau. History The bureau was formed in 1875 in Austria-Hungary as the ''Zemaljski statistički ured'' for the Kingdom of Croatia, Slavonia and Dalmatia. In 1924, the bureau was renamed to the ''Statistical Office in Zagreb'' (''Statistički ured u Zagrebu''). In 1929, after royal monarchy was proclaimed in the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes the bureau lost its financial and technical independence. In 1939 with the formation of the Banovina of Croatia, the office was made subject to the presidential office on the Ban's administration. In 1941 the Independent State of Croatia was formed and an ''Office of General State Statistics'' existed during this time under the control of the presidential government. Ilica (street)
Ilica is one of the longest streets in Zagreb, Croatia. The busy street is home to many shops and cultural sites and spans through most of the northwestern part of the city, from the Ban Jelačić Square in the city centre westward to the Vrapče district. The street is long, making it the third longest street in the city. The name was first recorded in 1431, while the street itself retained its present shape at the end of the 18th century. 1991 Croatian Census
The 1991 population census in Croatia was the last census of the population of Croatia taken before the Croatian War of Independence. It was conducted by the Croatian Bureau of Statistics during the final week of March 1991. For the 1991 census there were 106 municipalities of which five were part of Zagreb. Donji Grad, Zagreb
Donji grad (, locally also , "Lower Town") is one of the 17 city districts of Zagreb, the capital of Croatia. It is located in the central part of the city and has 37,024 inhabitants (as of 2011). The demographic characteristics of the population of Croatia are known through censuses, normally conducted in ten-year intervals and analysed by various statistical bureaus since the 1850s. The Croatian Bureau of Statistics has performed this task since the 1990s. The latest census in Croatia was performed in autumn of 2021. According to final results published on 22 September 2022 the permanent population of Croatia at the 2021 census (31st Aug) had reached 3.87 million. The population density is 68.7 inhabitants per square kilometre, and the overall life expectancy in Croatia at birth was 78,2 years in 2018.
