Courtice Secondary School
Courtice Secondary School is a public high school in the community of Courtice in Clarington, Ontario, Canada, at the corner of Nash and Courtice Roads. History It was built in the late 1950s and opened in September 1960. The school has just under 1,000 students and is a part of the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board. It has five feeder schools: Courtice North P.S., Lydia Trull P.S., Courtice Intermediate School, Emily Stowe P.S., and S.T. Worden P.S. Courtice Intermediate School is located in the same building as Courtice Secondary. It opened in September 2013 as a response to overcrowding at Dr. G. J. MacGillivray. Grade 7 and 8 students from the Dr. G. Clarington
Clarington (2021 population 101,427) is a lower-tier municipality in the Regional Municipality of Durham in Ontario, Canada. It was incorporated in 1973 as the town of Newcastle with the merging of the town of Bowmanville, the Village of Newcastle and the townships of Clarke and Darlington, and was established on January 1 1974. In 1993, the town was renamed Clarington, a portmanteau of the names of the two former townships. Bowmanville is the largest community in the municipality and is the home of the municipal offices. Clarington is part of the Oshawa census metropolitan area in the eastern end of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). Evan Esselink
Evan Esselink (born 28 February 1992) is a Canadian long-distance runner. Biography Esselink attended Courtice Secondary School before competing for Indiana University, where he studied economics. In 2017, he competed in the senior men's race at the 2017 IAAF World Cross Country Championships held in Kampala, Uganda. He finished in 88th place. In 2017, he also represented Canada at the 2017 Summer Universiade and he finished in 13th place in the men's 10,000 metres event. In 2018, he competed in the men's half marathon at the 2018 IAAF World Half Marathon Championships held in Valencia, Spain. He finished in 114th place. White Pine Award
The ''White Pine Award'' is one of the annual literature Forest of Reading awards sponsored by the Ontario Library Association (OLA). Every year, 10 books are nominated for the award and students vote their favourite book. The White Pine Nonfiction Award was discontinued after 2014. Voting In order to vote for the winner, one must register at the local branch library and read a minimum of 5 of the 10 nominated books. The program ends in April (of that year), with the voting day usually on April 18. Matthew Morison (born April 9, 1987) is a Canadian amateur Snowboarder who currently resides in Kamloops, British Columbia. Morison has qualified to compete at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, British Columbia. Matthew, a native of Burketon, Ontario began snowboarding at the Oshawa Ski Club at a young age. Derek Keenan
Derek Keenan (born October 2, 1961, in Oshawa, Ontario) is a former lacrosse player, and current head coach and general manager of the Saskatchewan Rush of the National Lacrosse League. Keenan has won the NLL GM of the Year award and the Les Bartley Award for Coach of the Year three times each; he won both awards in 2006, 2010, and 2014 though he shared the 2010 Bartley Award with Chris Hall. Zachary "Zach" Higgins (born December 30, 1990) is a Canadian professional lacrosse player for the Georgia Swarm of the National Lacrosse League and the Brooklin Redmen of Major Series Lacrosse.
