Corwin (TV Series)
''Corwin'' was a Canadian drama television series which aired on CBC Television from 1969 to 1971. Premise Psychiatrist Greg Corwin ( John Horton) established a general practice for the inner city. Other regular characters included Corwin's older assistant Doc James (Alan King), Mrs. Mackie or "Mac" (Ruth Springford) and Sergeant Bromley ( Robert Warner). The debut episode, "Does Anybody Here Know Denny?", guest starred Margot Kidder. Kidder was nominated for the Canadian Film Award for Best Actress in a Non Feature for her performance, and Springford won the Canadian Film Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Non-Feature for the same episode. Scheduling Hour-long episodes were broadcast Sundays at 9:00 p.m. (Eastern) from 5 October to 2 November 1969 in the first season, and 22 November 1970 to 3 January 1971 for the second and final season. Sandor Stern
Sandor Stern (born July 13, 1936) is a Canadian writer, director and film producer best known for his horror films. Personal life Born in the northern Canadian town of Timmins, Ontario; raised in the small town of Prescott, Ontario, on the St. Lawrence River; Sandor Stern was drawn to short story writing while in high school and began writing stage plays while attending the University of Toronto. Though he planned to obtain a degree in teaching, a physician-uncle suggested that medicine might offer more involving experiences for an aspiring writer. Heeding that advice, Stern enrolled in Medical School at the University of Toronto. During his schooling, he continued to write, switching to TV scripts, and selling his first script to the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation prior to his graduation in 1961. ''Elizabeth R'' is a BBC television drama serial of six 85-minute plays starring Glenda Jackson as Queen Elizabeth I of England. It was first broadcast on BBC2 from February to March 1971, through the ABC in Australia and broadcast in America on PBS's ''Masterpiece Theatre''. The series has been repeated several times, most recently from 17 February 2021, by BBC Four to celebrate the show's fiftieth anniversary.
