Cornelis Van Dam
Cornelis Van Dam is a Canadian Old Testament scholar. He was professor of Old Testament at Canadian Reformed Theological Seminary from 1981 to 2011. Van Dam holds degrees from Wilfrid Laurier University, Canadian Reformed Theological Seminary, Knox College at the University of Toronto, and the Theological University of Kampen. In 2011, a ''Festschrift'' was published in his honour. The Old Testament (often abbreviated OT) is the first division of the Christian biblical canon, which is based primarily upon the 24 books of the Hebrew Bible or Tanakh, a collection of ancient religious Hebrew writings by the Israelites. Al Wolters
Albert Marten "Al" Wolters (born 1942) is an emeritus professor of religion at Redeemer University College in Ancaster, Ontario (near Hamilton). Wilfrid Laurier University Alumni
Wilfrid ( – 709 or 710) was an English bishop and saint. Born a Northumbrian noble, he entered religious life as a teenager and studied at Lindisfarne, at Canterbury, in Francia, and at Rome; he returned to Northumbria in about 660, and became the abbot of a newly founded monastery at Ripon. In 664 Wilfrid acted as spokesman for the Roman position at the Synod of Whitby, and became famous for his speech advocating that the Roman method for calculating the date of Easter should be adopted. His success prompted the king's son, Alhfrith, to appoint him Bishop of Northumbria. Wilfrid chose to be consecrated in Gaul because of the lack of what he considered to be validly consecrated bishops in England at that time. Hans Boersma
Hans Boersma (born 1961) is a Dutch-Canadian Anglican theologian specialising in patristics, sacramental theology, and ''nouvelle théologie''. He is of Reformed background, but has become a convert and a priest in the Anglican Church in North America. Biography Boersma holds degrees from the University of Lethbridge, the Theological College of the Canadian Reformed Churches, and Utrecht University. He previously taught at Trinity Western University in Langley, BC (1999–2005) and served as the J. I. Packer Professor of Theology at Regent College from 2005 to 2019. Canadian Reformed Theological Seminary
The Canadian Reformed Theological Seminary is a Reformed seminary in Hamilton, Ontario. It is the federational seminary of the Canadian Reformed Churches. History Synod Orangeville (1968) made the decision to establish a Theological College of the Canadian Reformed Churches on Wednesday, November 20, 1968, and to appoint three full-time professors and two lecturers. The College was officially opened in September 1969 in Hamilton, Ontario. The Ontario legislature granted degree-granting authority to the Seminary under the Canadian Reformed Theological College Act, 1981. Since 1984, the Faculty is made up of four full-time professors.
