Frank Eugene Corder
Frank Eugene Corder (May 26, 1956 – September 12, 1994) was an American truck driver. He stole a Cessna 150 late on September 11, 1994, and crashed the stolen aircraft onto the South Lawn (White House), South Lawn of the White House early on September 12, 1994, while attempting to land the plane; he was killed, and was the sole casualty. Background Corder was born in Perry Point, Maryland, the son of William Eugene Corder, who was an aircraft mechanic at Aberdeen Proving Ground#Edgewood_Arsenal, Edgewood Arsenal, and Dorothy Corder. He dropped out of Aberdeen High School (Aberdeen, Maryland), Aberdeen High School in the eleventh grade and enlisted in the U. S. Army, Army in October 1974. Frederick Corder
Frederick Corder (26 January 1852 – 21 August 1932) was an English composer and music teacher. Life Corder was born in Hackney, the son of Micah Corder and his wife Charlotte Hill. He was educated at Blackheath Proprietary School and started music lessons, particularly piano, early. Later he studied with Henry Gadsby. After that he studied harmony with Claude Couldery. Frederick Corder continued his studies at the Royal Academy of Music, where he studied with George Alexander Macfarren (harmony and composition), William Cusins (piano) and William Watson (violin). In 1875, he earned a Mendelssohn Scholarship, which enabled him to study for four years abroad. He spent the first three in the Cologne Conservatory in Cologne, where he studied composition with Ferdinand Hiller and piano with Isidor Seiss. Vice Admiral Sir Ian Fergus Corder, (born 6 August 1960) is a retired senior Royal Navy officer who served as UK Military Representative to NATO, and was the Lieutenant Governor of Guernsey from 2016 to 2021. James Watson Corder (1867–1953) is a historian best remembered for documenting family history in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, Sunderland, County Durham, England. His volumes are today invaluable to people interested in genealogy. Early life James Corder, the son of Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, Sunderland merchant tradesman Francis Corder, was educated at the Quaker-run Bootham School in York and never married. Instead, he devoted his life to local history. John Shewell Corder
John Shewell Corder (1856 Westoe, South Tyneside – 19 July 1922 Ipswich) was an English architect, artist and antiquarian. Early life Corder came from a well connected Quaker family with links in East Anglia, North England and Berkshire. He was the son of Frederick Corder and Jane Ransome, daughter of James Ransome. Along with other siblings the family moved to Ipswich in 1860. He was given the name of Shewell form Fredrick's mother, Mary Shewell. Architectural career During the period 1872-7, Corder was articled to his step-uncle, the architect Joseph Morris based in Reading. Frederic Corder had married Maria Morris, Joseph's sister, both of whom were children of Thomas Morris and Ann Talwin Shewell. Corder has been credited with over 100 commissions. Paul Corder
Paul Walford Corder (14 December 1879 - 6 August 1942) was an English composer and music professor. Corder was born at Pimlico, London, the son of musician Frederick Corder and his wife Henrietta Walford. He was baptised at St Gabriel's, Warwick Square, London, on 1 March 1880. He studied under his father at the Royal Academy of Music and won the Goring Thomas scholarship for composition in 1901. In 1907 he joined the staff of the Academy as Professor of Composition and Harmony. His aunt Rosa Corder painted a portrait of Dante Gabriel Rossetti and Corder was strongly influenced by the Pre-Raphaelite movement. He composed operas, ballets, cantatas and piano works. Many of his orchestral works remain unpublished and unknown but some of his keyboard pieces were published and achieved some public attention. Philip Corder
Philip Corder (–29 May 1961) was a British archaeologist and curator, and president (1954-1957) of the Royal Archaeological Institute. Biography Corder was Master of Bootham School, where he taught English, before becoming the curator of Verulamium Museum. Corder was elected as an Honorary member of the Yorkshire Philosophical Society in 1940. He served as the Assistant Secretary to the Society of Antiquaries of London from 1943-1961, with which he was a Fellow. Corder appeared in four episodes of the 1950s panel show ''Animal, Vegetable, Mineral'' between 1955 and 1957. Excavations Corder undertook the first excavations at the Roman fort at Malton (''Derventio)'' in 1927–1930, along with his colleague Dr John Kirk.
