AS Corbeil Essonne XIII Spartiates are a French Rugby league club based in Essonnes, Paris in the Île-de-France region. The club plays in the Île-de-France regional league of the French National Division 2. History * It wasn't until 2009 that AS Corbeil XIII, as they were originally called, made an impact in French rugby league. National Division 2
National Division 2 is the fourth tier of rugby league in France, below the National Division 1. The season runs from September to April. The Division is split into 5 regional leagues, Languedoc-Roussillon, Midi-Pyrenees, Aquitaine, Ile de France and Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur (PACA). Clubs play each other home and away in their respective regional league with the top clubs progressing into a series of play-off matches to determine the champions. The champions can apply for promotion to the ''National Division 1''. This tier was formerly known as the Federal Championship. Corbeil-Essonnes () on the River Seine is a commune in the southern suburbs of Paris, France. It is located from the center of Paris. Although neighboring Évry is the official seat of the Arrondissement of Évry, the sub-prefecture building and administration are located inside the commune of Corbeil-Essonnes. Elite Two Championship
Elite 2 (formerly the Elite Two Championship) is the second tier semi-professional rugby league competition in France below Elite 1, but above the National Division 1. The season runs from September to April. The clubs play each other home and away before entering into a series of play-off matches resulting in a Grand Final. The winners can gain promotion to Elite 1 providing they meet a minimum criteria. Occasionally the runners-up could be offered promotion. History The league was previously called the National League 1 from 1958 to 2002. The Elite Two Championship was formed in 2002 when the French Rugby League Championship was split into two Elite One and Elite Two. There was no competition in 1987 and in 1988 the league was won on league placings and not by a series of play-offs. RC Baho XIII
Racing Club Baho XIII who are more commonly known as RC Baho XIII are a semi-professional rugby league team based in the town of Baho in the region of Pyrenees-Orientales in southern France. The club compete in the Elite Two Championship which is the second tier rugby league competition in France. Their home ground is the Stade Municipal de Baho and they are coached by Didier Meynard. History During the mid eighties RC Baho XIII reached three consecutive National 2 now called National Division 1 finals. Losing the first one in season 84/85 against Palau XIII Broncos 15-24, they gained revenge in 1985/86 beating Palau XIII Broncos 34-20, then lost 6-7 against US Trentels XIII in 1987.
