Martha Jane Knowlton Coray
Martha Jane Knowlton Coray (June 3, 1821 – December 14, 1881) was an American Mormon pioneer, record keeper, and educator. She was the only female member of the first board of trustees of Brigham Young Academy. Born in Kentucky and raised in Ohio and Illinois, Coray converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as a young woman and moved to the Mormon settlement of Nauvoo. There, she assisted Lucy Mack Smith, the mother of Joseph Smith (founder of the Latter Day Saint movement), in creating a biography of Joseph, later published under the title ''History of Joseph Smith by His Mother''. After crossing the Great Plains alongside other Mormon pioneers, Coray settled in Utah Territory, homesteading in towns such as Tooele and Mona. She helped support her family financially through dairy production, home chemistry, and other crafts. Coray Colina
Coray Colina is a Professor of Chemistry at the University of Florida. Education Colina received her BS in 1993 and MS in 1994 at Simón Bolívar University in Venezuela. She earned her PhD at North Carolina State University in 2004 advised by Keith E. Gubbins, and subsequently worked as a Postdoctoral researcher at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Career Colina was a faculty member Simón Bolívar University, joined Pennsylvania State University in 2007, and moved to University of Florida in 2015. Colina acted as the chair of the Computational Molecular Science & Engineering Forum (CoMSEF) of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) in 2014–2016, after having been a CoMSEF liaison director in 2009–2011. Ira Coray Abbott
Ira Coray Abbott was named captain of the 1st Michigan Infantry Regiment on May 1, 1861.http://www.gettysburg.edu/dotAsset/cc183a2d-dd9b-485c-a4d0-bb418944380c.pdf He left the active service voluntarily on August 7, 1861, but re-entered on September 12, 1861. He was promoted to Major on April 28, 1862, and to Lieutenant Colonel on August 30, 1862. Abbott commanded the regiment at the Battle of Fredericksburg in December 1862 where he was wounded. He was promoted to colonel on March 18, 1863. At the Battle of Gettysburg the regiment was attached to the brigade of Colonel William S. Tilton; which faced the Confederate attack in the area of Stony Sill on July 2, 1863.
