Copenhagen (Folketing Constituency)
Copenhagen ( da, København) is one of the 12 multi-member constituencies of the Folketing, the national legislature of Denmark. The constituency was established in 2007 following the public administration structural reform. It consists of the municipalities of Copenhagen, Dragør, Frederiksberg and Tårnby. The constituency currently elects 16 of the 179 members of the Folketing using the open party-list proportional representation electoral system. At the 2019 general election it had 538,346 registered electors. Folketing
The Folketing ( da, Folketinget, ; ), also known as the Parliament of Denmark or the Danish Parliament in English, is the unicameral national legislature (parliament) of the Kingdom of Denmark—Denmark proper together with the Faroe Islands and Greenland. Established in 1849, until 1953 the Folketing was the lower house of a bicameral parliament, called the Rigsdag; the upper house was Landstinget. It meets in Christiansborg Palace, on the islet of Slotsholmen in central Copenhagen. The Folketing passes all laws, approves the cabinet, and supervises the work of the government. It is also responsible for adopting the state's budgets and approving the state's accounts. As set out in the Constitution of Denmark, the Folketing shares power with the reigning monarch. Pia Olsen Dyhr
Pia Olsen Dyhr (born 30 November 1971 in Vallensbæk, Copenhagen) is a Danish politician who has been a member of the Folketing for the Socialist People's Party since the 2007 general elections. Dyhr has served as Minister for Trade and Investment and later Minister of Transport in the first Helle Thorning-Schmidt Cabinet. Following her party's resignation from the cabinet, Dyhr was elected as chairman for the Socialist People's Party. Background Dyhr graduated from Ishøj Gymnasium in 1985. Samira Nawa Amini (born 30 March 1988 in Aalborg) is a Danish politician, who is a member of the Folketing for the Social Liberal Party. Rune Lund (born 30 October 1976 in Copenhagen) is a Danish politician, who is a member of the Folketing for the Red–Green Alliance political party. He was elected at the 2015 Danish general election, and previously sat in parliament from 2005 to 2007. Political career Lund was first elected into parliament at the 2005 election. He was not reelected in 2007, but received enough votes to become the Red-Green Alliance's primary substitute in the Fyn constituency. Rosa Lund (born 4 December 1986, in Copenhagen) is a Danish politician, who is a member of the Folketing for the Red–Green Alliance (Danish: Enhedslisten) political party. She was elected at the 2019 Danish general election, and previously sat in parliament from 2011 to 2015. Education Lund studied at the University of Copenhagen between 2009-2018 and has a bachelor's degree in political science and a master's degree in law. The Social Democrats ( da, Socialdemokraterne, ) is a social democratic political party in Denmark. A member of the Party of European Socialists (PES), the Social Democrats have 50 out of 179 members of the Danish parliament (following the latest Danish general election held in 2022), Folketing, and three out of fourteen MEPs elected from Denmark. Red–Green Alliance (Denmark)
The Red–Green Alliance or Unity List ( da, Enhedslisten – De Rød-Grønne, , EL) is an eco-socialist political party in Denmark. It was founded in 1989 with the merger of three Marxist parties and it is the furthest left-wing party in the Danish parliament, where it advocates for an expansion of welfare and social justice as well as socialist transformation in Denmark and internationally.
