The Copa del Rey 2006-07 was the 71st edition of the Spanish basketball Cup. It was organized by the ACB and was disputed in Málaga, Andalusia in the Jose Maria Martin Carpena Arena between days 8 and 11 of February. The winning team was Winterthur FC Barcelona. The Copa del Rey de Baloncesto (English: '' King's Cup of Basketball'') is an annual cup competition for Spanish basketball teams organized by Spain's top professional league, the Liga ACB. History Originally known as the ''Copa de España de Baloncesto'', was first played in 1933 and contested in its first editions only by teams from the provinces of Madrid and Barcelona. It was the first nationwide basketball competition played in Spain. During the Francoism, it was referred to as the ''Copa del Generalísimo de Baloncesto'', before becoming the ''Copa del Rey de Baloncesto'' in 1977. Robert Archibald
Robert Michael Archibald (29 March 1980 – 23 January 2020) was a Scottish professional basketball player. A power forward / center from the University of Illinois, he was selected by the Memphis Grizzlies in the 2002 NBA draft with the third pick of the second round (32nd overall). Career Archibald graduated from Lafayette High School in 1998, along with MLB player Ryan Howard. Archibald's father Bobby was a player for Murray BC in Scotland and was capped several times for Scotland and Great Britain's national teams. Felipe Reyes Cabanás (born March 16, 1980) is a Spanish former professional basketball player. He represented the senior Spain national team. Standing at a height of 2.04 m (6 ft 8 in) tall, and weighing 104 kg (229 lbs.), he plays at the power forward and center positions. Carles Marco Viñas (born September 23, 1974) is a Spanish retired basketball player, who played as point guard, and the current assistant coach for Crvena zvezda of the EuroLeague and the ABA League. Hollis Price (born October 29, 1979) is an American former professional basketball player. He is currently an assistant coach for the University of Houston men's basketball program. Luis Alberto Scola Balvoa (born April 30, 1980) is an Argentine former professional basketball player and current executive who currently serves as the chief executive officer for the Italian Lega Basket Serie A (LBA) team Pallacanestro Varese.
