Copa De Competencia Jockey Club
The Copa de Competencia Jockey Club was an official Argentine football cup competition contested between 1907 and 1933. The winner of this Cup was allowed to play the Tie Cup against the Uruguayan champion of Copa de Competencia. History The Copa de Competencia Jockey Club was first awarded in 1907, being Alumni its first winner. Teams affiliated to the Argentine Football Association and Liga Rosarina de Football were allowed to enter to this competition. Rosarian teams participated until the 1919 edition. From the 1921 edition, only teams from the cities of Buenos Aires and La Plata took part of the competition. After the final edition of the Tie Cup in 1919, the Copa de Competencia Jockey Club was played on four more occasions in 1921, 1925, 1931 and 1936. The Argentine Football Association ( es, Asociación del Fútbol Argentino, ; AFA) is the governing body of football in Argentina based in Buenos Aires. Club Atlético Porteño is an Argentine rugby union club sited in San Vicente, Buenos Aires. The club was founded on July 28, 1895 by Irish immigrants as a football team, which participated in tournaments organized by the Argentine Football Association until 1931 when the sport became professional in Argentina. The Estadio Racing Club, popularly known as Estadio Alsina y Colón, was an association football stadium in Avellaneda, a suburb of Greater Buenos Aires, Argentina. It was the home ground of Racing Club before they moved to Estadio Juan Domingo Perón in 1950, and was located in the intersection of Alsina and Colón streets, hence been sometimes referred as 'Estadio de Alsina y Colón'. Quilmes () is a city on the coast of the Río de la Plata, Rio de la Plata, in the , on the south east of the Greater Buenos Aires. History The ''Quilmes (tribe), Quilmes'' were a native tribe who lived in the surroundings of San Miguel de Tucumán, Tucumán. In the 17th century, after repeated attempts by the Spanish invaders to control their lands, the Quilmes were defeated and were forced to settle in a restricted colony (''reducción'') near Buenos Aires, where the authorities could control them.
