Copa De Competencia (Asociación Amateurs)
The Copa de Competencia was an official Argentine football cup competition contested between 1920 and 1926. It was established by the "Asociación Amateurs de Football", a dissident body formed a year before. The Associación Amateurs organized its own championships until 1926 when it merged to official Asociación Argentina. Unlike the Copa de Competencia Jockey Club, this Cup did not qualify any team to play an international match because it had been created by a dissident league (clubs registered to AFA played against the Uruguayan Football Association champions). The inaugural edition of the cup was contested by 21 clubs from dissident leagues of Buenos aires and Rosario. From 1924 to its end, the tournament was played by teams from Buenos Aires only due to the Rosario representatives had joined Liga Rosarina de Football. Asociación Amateurs De Football
The Asociación Amateurs de Football (AAmF) was a dissident football association of Argentina that organised its own championships from 1919 to 1926. The Argentine Football Association did not recognise those championships until both associations were merged in 1926. Currently all the championships organised by the AAmF are considered official by the AFA. History On 16 March 1919, the Primera División season started with 19 teams taking part. With the 1919 championship still disputing, the conflict began. The Argentine Association rejected representatives from the clubs Estudiantil Porteño, Independiente, Platense, Racing, River Plate and Tigre. As those teams maintained their position, the Association disaffiliated them temporarily. Banfield, Buenos Aires
Banfield is a city in the district of Lomas de Zamora in Buenos Aires Province, Argentina, south of the city center of Buenos Aires. It forms part of the Greater Buenos Aires metro area. Raimundo Bibiani "Mumo" Orsi (2 December 1901 – 6 April 1986) was an Italian Argentine footballer who played as a winger or as a forward. At the international level he represented both Argentina and Italy, winning the 1927 Copa América and the silver medal at the 1928 Summer Olympics in Amsterdam, Netherlands, with Argentina, as well as two editions of the Central European International Cup and the 1934 FIFA World Cup, with Italy. Estadio Sportivo Barracas was a football stadium in Buenos Aires, Argentina, property of Club Sportivo Barracas. The stadium was one of the most important venues in Argentina, used for football and rugby union matches. It held 37,000 spectators.
