''Cop'' (russian: Коп) is a Russian crime comedy-drama television series produced by Sreda (production company), Sreda for Channel One Russia. The series is directed by Radda Novikova and stars Kirill Zaytsev and Anna Snatkina. The series is about an American police officer who comes to Russia to work with the local police. It debuted on 27 May 2019 on Channel One Russia. Plot Under a professional exchange program, Sergeant John McKenzie arrives in Russia from the United States. The American not only becomes a partner of the investigator Vasilisa Vikhreva, but also temporarily settles in her apartment. It is hard for John and Vasilisa to work together - their differences in personalities and mentalities affect their relations. The police show, or police crime drama, is a subgenre of procedural drama and detective fiction that emphasizes the investigative procedure of a police officer or department as the protagonist(s), as contrasted with other genres that focus on either a private detective, an amateur investigator or the characters who are the targets of investigations. Kirill Andreyevich Zaytsev (russian: Кирилл Андреевич Зайцев; born August 16, 1987) is a Russian actor, film director, producer. For his role in ''Going Vertical'' he received the Golden Eagle Award in 2019. Life and career Kirill Zaytsev was born in Volgograd, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union (now Russia).
