Cookin' With The Miles Davis Quintet
''Cookin' with the Miles Davis Quintet'' is an album recorded in 1956 by the Miles Davis Quintet in Rudy Van Gelder's studio in Hackensack, New Jersey, and released in July 1957. As the musicians had to pay for the studio time (a result of a rather modest contract with Prestige), their recordings are practically live. Two sessions 11 May 1956 and 26 October in the same year resulted in four albums—this one, '' Relaxin' with the Miles Davis Quintet'', '' Steamin' with the Miles Davis Quintet'' and ''Workin' with the Miles Davis Quintet''. It was the first of the four LPs to be released. In response to the album title, Davis said, "After all, that's what we did—came in and cooked". The album was originally released on CD in the U.S. in 1957, and it was remastered for CD most recently by Rudy Van Gelder again in 2006 for Prestige Records. Reid Miles designed the album's cover and Phil Hays provided the illustration. Track listing Prestige – LP 7094: Personnel * Miles Da ...

Cookin' With The Miracles
''Cookin' with the Miracles'' is the second Tamla album by American soul vocal group The Miracles, and their second of 1961. Berry Gordy and Smokey Robinson co-wrote most of the songs, including the two charting singles "Ain't It Baby" (#49 US, #15 R&B) and " Everybody's Gotta Pay Some Dues" (#52 US, #11 R&B). Another single, "Mighty Good Lovin’" (#51 US, #21 R&B) b/w "Broken Hearted" (#97 US), was issued in between those two. However, only "Broken Hearted" appears on the album, featuring a different vocal take to the single version. The album is composed mostly of upbeat R&B tunes with steady string riffs, like "Determination" and "Broken Hearted". A cover of the jazz standard " Embraceable You" by George & Ira Gershwin is also included. "That's The Way I Feel", also from this album, was chosen for the soundtrack of the award-winning 1964 Ivan Dixon film '' Nothing But a Man''. ''Cookin' with the Miracles'' is one of only two Miracles albums to feature on its cover the comp ...

Plata O Plomo
''Plata O Plomo'' is the collaborative studio album by American rappers Fat Joe and Remy Ma, released February 17, 2017 by RNG (Rap's New Generation) and Empire. Background The title of the album, "plata o plomo", translates from Spanish to "silver or lead", meaning "money or bullets". The phrase was used by Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar who would offer government officials and law enforcement the choice of taking a bribe, or having a murder contract placed against them. Fat Joe commented: "the name of the album is called Plata o Plomo... money or bullets. You know what I'm saying? However you want it." Critical response Neil Yeung of AllMusic gave the album 3.5 out of 5 stars, praising the album for its mix of old school hip-hop with a new modern radio-friendly sound, saying that the album "plays like a mixtape (or playlist) with a wide variety of club-friendly hip-hop that often tugs on '90s nostalgia heartstrings while updating their sound with 2017 production".
