''Convicts'' is the only studio album by American hip hop duo the Convicts, consisted of rappers Lord 3-2 and Big Mike. It was released in 1991 through Rap-A-Lot Records. It features guest appearances from James Prince, Kim "Choice" Davis and Geto Boys. The album peaked at number 52 on the US ''Billboard'' Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. Lyn Collins
Gloria Lavern Collins (June 12, 1948 – March 13, 2005), better known as Lyn Collins, was an American soul singer best known for working with James Brown in the 1970s and for the influential 1972 funk single, "Think (About It)". A favorite among hip hop, R&B, and dance music producers for decades, Collins is by far the most sampled female artist of all time, with portions of her recordings used in well over 3,500 songs. Early life and career Collins began her recording career at age 14. She played with Charles Pike & The Scholars. Collins recorded "What My Baby Needs Now Is a Little More Lovin'" with James Brown in 1972. Her biggest solo hit was the James Brown-produced gospel-style song "Think (About It)", from her 1972 album of the same name on People Records. Bloodstone is an American R&B, soul, and funk group, most popular in the 1970s and early 1980s. The band charted thirteen songs between 1973 and 1984. Sound Experience was an American funk ensemble, founded at Morgan State College in Baltimore, Maryland, in 1970. The group played locally and recorded with producer Stan Watson, recording with him in Philadelphia. They recorded several singles, two full-length albums and live album. A live album entitled ''Live At The Glen Mills Reform School For Boys'' was their debut full-length. It was released on GSF Records in 1973. ''Don't Fight the Feeling'' was released in 1974 on Philly Soulville Records and reached #57 on the ''Billboard'' R&B Albums chart. Kid Dynamite was an American, Philadelphia-based hardcore punk band. They formed in 1997 and broke up in 2000, while reuniting sporadically since then until 2013. They were signed to Jade Tree Records. History Kid Dynamite was formed in 1997 by drummer Dave Wagenschutz and guitarist Dan Yemin, who had both played in the influential New Jersey band Lifetime. After their dissolution, Yemin expressed interest in forming a new band. He called friend Steve Ferrell to fill the role as the bassist and Wagenschutz on drums, rounding out the rhythm section. Sly and the Family Stone was an American band from San Francisco. Active from 1966 to 1983, it was pivotal in the development of funk, soul, rock, and psychedelic music. Zapp (band)
Zapp (also known as the Zapp Band, Zapp & Roger) is an American funk band that emerged from Dayton, Ohio, United States, in 1977. Particularly influential in the electro subgenre of funk, Zapp were known for their trademark use of the talk-box effect. The original line-up consisted of four Troutman brothers—frontman Roger, Larry, Lester and Terry—and non-Troutman family members Bobby Glover, Gregory Jackson, Sherman Fleetwood, Jerome Derrickson, Eddie Barber and Shirley Murdock.
