Constitutional Court Of Moldova
The Constitutional Court of the Republic of Moldova () represents the sole body of constitutional jurisdiction in the Republic of Moldova, autonomous and independent from the executive, the legislature and the judiciary. The task of the Constitutional Court is to guarantee the supremacy of the Constitution, to ensure the principle of separation of State powers into the legislative, executive and judicial branches, to guarantee the observance of the State's responsibility towards the citizen and the citizen's responsibility towards the State. Upon request, the Constitutional Court interprets the Constitution and undertakes the review of constitutionality of the Parliament's laws and decisions, the decrees of the President and the acts of the Government. The court's existence was provided for by the Constitution, adopted in July 1994. It was created in February 1995. Tudor Panțîru
Tudor Panțîru (born 26 October 1951) is a Moldovan and Romanian judge, politician and diplomat, former President of the Constitutional Court of Moldova, and former international judge of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina (2002–2021). Biography He was born in Baraboi, at the time in the Moldavian Soviet Socialist Republic, Soviet Union (now in Dondușeni District, Moldova). Panțîru graduated in Law at Moldova State University. In 1977-1980 he worked as a lawyer, in 1980–1987 as a judge and then as President of the Frunze District Court in Chișinău in 1987–1990. In the last two years he also chaired Moldova's commission for the appointment and promotion of judges. From 1990 to 1994 he served as Member of Parliament of the independent Republic of Moldova, chairing the parliament's legal committee in 1990–92. Constitutional Courts
A constitutional court is a high court that deals primarily with constitutional law. Its main authority is to rule on whether laws that are challenged are in fact unconstitutional, i.e. whether they conflict with constitutionally established rules, rights, and freedoms, among other things. Domnica ( 378) was the wife of Roman emperor Valens. Valens, who ruled from 364 to 378, was emperor of the East and co-emperor with his brother Valentinian I. After the death of her husband in 378 she ruled as ''de facto'' regent and defended Constantinople against the attacking Goths until his successor, Theodosius I arrived. Family Dominica was the daughter of the powerful and unpopular praetorian prefect Petronius, who was hated for his greed and cruelty. Vladimir Ţurcan (born 14 October 1954) is a Moldovan judge and former politician. Biography Vladimir Turcan was born on 14 October 1954 and in the town of Slobodzeya, Moldavian SSR.
