''Consider This'' is an American weeknight current affairs television talk show hosted by Antonio Mora that was broadcast on Al Jazeera America. The program aired from August 2013 to February 2015, and featured interviews and panel discussions on the stories of the day. ''Consider This'' also featured interactive segments where the audience joins the conversation via social media. The show was produced and shot from New York City and was produced from the same studio as ''Real Money with Ali Velshi'', another show on Al Jazeera America. ''Consider This'' airs from 10pm to 11pm eastern time, Monday through Friday. There were repeats in the morning and on weekends. The show also took questions from social media. That part of the show was hosted by Hermela Aregawi. Current affairs is a genre of broadcast journalism in which major news stories are discussed at length in a timely manner. This differs from regular news broadcasts that place emphasis on news reports presented for simple presentation as soon as possible, often with a minimum of analysis. It is also different from the news magazine show format in that the events are discussed immediately. Antonio Mora
Antonio Mora (born December 14, 1957, Havana, Cuba) is a multiple Emmy Award winning journalist and television news anchor. He is best known for his years at ABC News, including his four years as the news anchor and chief correspondent for '' Good Morning America''. He was an anchor on Al Jazeera America and its 9pm news broadcast. For the first year and a half of the network's existence, he acted as the host of a show called '' Consider This''. He was the first Hispanic American male to anchor a primetime newscast in Chicago and one of the only Hispanic American males to anchor a national broadcast news show. Al Jazeera America was an American pay television news channel owned by the Al Jazeera Media Network. The channel was launched on August 20, 2013, to compete with CNN, HLN, MSNBC, Fox News, and in certain markets RT America. ''Ali Velshi on Target'' (formerly ''Real Money with Ali Velshi'') was a daily thirty-minute program on Al Jazeera America hosted by Ali Velshi that focuses on current affairs which provides context and analysis around current political and economic issues along with interviews. The show was shot and produced in New York City and originally shared studio space with '' Consider This'', another Al Jazeera America show. Sir John Young Stewart (born 11 June 1939), known as Jackie Stewart, is a British former Formula One racing driver from Scotland. Nicknamed the "Flying Scot", he competed in Formula One between 1965 and 1973, winning three World Drivers' Championships and twice finishing as runner-up over those nine seasons. Current TV was an American television channel which broadcast from August 1, 2005, to August 20, 2013. Prior INdTV founders Al Gore and Joel Hyatt, with Ronald Burkle, each held a sizable stake in Current TV. Comcast and DirecTV each held a smaller stake. The channel started out as a user-generated content channel with content made by viewers in 15-minute blocks.
