Congressional Caucus For The Equal Rights Amendment
The Congressional Caucus for the Equal Rights Amendment is a congressional caucus affiliated with the Democratic Party in the United States House of Representatives. History The caucus was launched 100 years after the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) was first introduced in Congress. The Equal Rights Amendment Caucus will reportedly "partner with advocates, activists, scholars, organizers, and public figures to establish a constitutional right to gender equality, and raise awareness". The caucus will work to affirm the ERA as the 28th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States. A congressional caucus is a group of members of the United States Congress that meet to pursue common legislative objectives. Formally, caucuses are formed as congressional member organizations (CMOs) through the United States House of Representatives and the United States Senate and governed under the rules of these chambers.
