Concordia (mythology)
In ancient Roman religion, Concordia (means "concord" or "harmony" in Latin) is the goddess who embodies agreement in marriage and society. Her Greek equivalent is usually regarded as Harmonia, with musical harmony a metaphor for an ideal of social concord or '' entente'' in the political discourse of the Republican era. She was thus often associated with Pax ("Peace") in representing a stable society. As such, she is more closely related to the Greek concept of ''homonoia'' ( likemindedness), which was also represented by a goddess. Concordia Augusta was cultivated in the context of Imperial cult. Concordia Cornelia Johanna Selander, née ''Hård'' (Arboga, 2 June 1861 – 31 March 1935), was a Swedish actress and theatre manager. Her father was a music instrument maker. Concordia is a city and its surrounding municipality in the Mexican state of Sinaloa. The town is noted for manufacture of artesinal wooden furniture, symbolized by the giant chair in the town plaza. According to 2010 census, it had a population of 8,328 inhabitants. Concordia is a provincial electoral division in the Canadian province of Manitoba. It is in the northeastern part of the city of Winnipeg. It is bordered to the south by St. Boniface, to the west by Elmwood, to the north by Rossmere, and to the east by Radisson.
