Concert At The End Of Summer
Concert at the End of Summer ( cs, Koncert na konci léta) is 1980 Czechoslovak historical biographical film. The film consists pictures from life of Antonín Dvořák. Plot Antonín Dvořák prepares for Concert at Royal Albert Hall but bad feeling forces him to return to his homeland. While in a train, Dvořák remembers his life. He remembers when he started 15 years ago as a violinist in a Theatre. He was impressed by young actress Josefina Čermáková but she married count Kounic while Dvořák married her sister Anna. Dvořák the got into conflict with Kounic's brother Kent which almost cost him career. But support from his wife Anna and help from influential composer Brahms helps him succeed. His conflict with Kent continues as Kent orders a composition from him that he would release as his own but Dvořák manages to get rid of the contract. František Vláčil
František Vláčil (19 February 1924, Český Těšín – 27 January 1999, Prague) was a Czech film director, painter, and graphic artist. Between 1945 and 1950, he studied aesthetics and art history at Masaryk University in Brno. Later he worked in various groups and ateliers (e.g. on animated films), but his main area became played film. His films are well known for extraordinarily high art quality. Vláčil was awarded many film prizes like the Prize of the International Film Festival 1998 in Karlovy Vary or the Czech Lion Prize for his longstanding contribution to world film culture. Zlata Adamovská
Zlata Adamovská (born March 9, 1959) is a Czech actress. Born in Prague, she has starred in a number of films and TV series including ''Sanitka'' and '' Noc smaragdového měsíce'', which was entered into the 35th Berlin International Film Festival. Since 1990, she has been a member of the ensemble at the Vinohrady Theatre. In December 2018 she agreed to play a role in an upcoming film ''Women on the Run''. There, she plays the role of Vera, a woman with three sisters who are played by Tereza Kostková, Veronika Khek Kubařová and Jenovéfa Boková. Oskar Nedbal
Oskar Nedbal (26 March 1874 – 24 December 1930) was a Czech violist, composer, and conductor of classical music. Early life Nedbal was born in Tábor, in southern Bohemia. He studied the violin at the Prague Conservatory under Antonín Bennewitz. Career He was principal conductor with the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra from 1896 to 1906 and was a founder member of the Bohemian String Quartet, as violist. A great admirer of his teacher Antonín Dvořák, Nedbal also paid homage to other composers. For example, in his 1910 composition, ''Romantic Piece, Op. 18'' for cello and piano, Nedbal cleverly inserts a theme usually associated with Mozart, '' Ah, vous dirai-je, Maman''. Career Havelka has been the lead vocalist for the Original Prague Syncopated Orchestra (1976-1995) and for Ondřej Havelka and his Melody Makers (1995 to present), and has directed and appeared in musicals and award-winning music videos.
