Dancehall is a genre of Jamaican popular music that originated in the late 1970s. Ragga
Raggamuffin music, usually abbreviated as ragga, is a subgenre of dancehall and reggae music. The instrumentals primarily consist of electronic music. Similar to hip hop, sampling often serves a prominent role in raggamuffin music. Wayne Smith's " Under Mi Sleng Teng", produced by King Jammy in 1985 on a Casio MT-40 synthesizer, is generally recognized as the seminal ragga song. "Sleng Teng" boosted Jammy's popularity immensely, and other producers quickly released their own versions of the riddim, accompanied by dozens of different vocalists. Ragga is now mainly used as a synonym for dancehall reggae or for describing dancehall with a deejay chatting rather than singjaying or singing on top of the riddim. Baby Rasta & Gringo is a Puerto Rican reggaeton duo formed in 1988 in Las Monjas, Hato Rey, Puerto Rico. Originally known as "the Eazy Boyz", they've released five studio albums since 1994 but have had various collaborations prior to 1998. Most of these collaborations were with DJ Negro, a collection of albums that were divided in volumes titled The Noise. History Baby Rasta is named Wilmer Alicea and Gringo is named Samuel Gerena. They started in 1994 in Hato Rey as 'the Eazy Boyz', but they didn't debut in the market until 1998 after changing their name with ''New Prophecy''. Grace Latoya Hamilton (born 6 August 1982), known professionally as Spice, is a Jamaican dancehall recording artist, singer, songwriter and businesswoman. Cornel Campbell aka Don Cornel or Don Gorgon (born 23 November 1945 in Kingston, Jamaica) is a reggae singer, best known for his trademark falsetto voice, and his recordings at Studio One in the late 1960s and his later work with Bunny Lee in the 1970s.
