Compagnie Internationale De Navigation Aérienne
CFRNA ("The French-Romanian Company for Air Transport"; french: Compagnie franco-roumaine de navigation aérienne; ro, Compania franco-română de navigație aeriană) was a French–Romanian airline, founded on 1 January 1920. Its name changed on 1 January 1925 to CIDNA ("The International Air Navigation Company"; french: Compagnie internationale de navigation aérienne). Using French-built Potez aircraft, the company provided passenger, mail and cargo transportation, by air, from Paris to Bucharest, via Strasbourg, Prague, Vienna and Budapest. As such, CFRNA was the first operative transcontinental airline in the history of aviation. The company also made the first passenger international night flight, between Belgrade and Bucharest in 1923. In 1925 CIDNA opened the first domestic Romanian route Bucharest – Galați, followed, from 24 June 1926, by an extended service to Iași and Chișinău and to Bălți. The Potez 32 and its military version the Potez 33 was a single-engine French monoplane transport built by Potez and based on the Potez 29 biplane. Development The Potez 32 used the same fuselage, tail unit and landing gear of the Potez 29, but was a high-wing strut-braced monoplane configured as either a five-passenger transport or mail plane. The Potez 29 was a 1920s French passenger biplane designed and built by Avions Henry Potez. Although designed as a civilian aircraft, a large number entered service with the French Air Force. Development The Potez 29 was a biplane powered by a nose-mounted 335 kW (450 hp) Lorraine 12Eb broad-arrow piston engine, with a fixed tailskid landing gear. Based on the earlier Potez 25, with the same wings and engine, the Potez 29 had a new fuselage with an enclosed cockpit for two crew and a cabin for five passengers. The Bernard 190 or Bernard-Hubert 190 was a French airliner of 1928. It was a high-wing cantilever monoplane of conventional configuration, based on the Bernard 18.
