Corsica
Corsica ( , Upper , Southern ; it, Corsica; ; french: Corse ; lij, Còrsega; sc, Còssiga) is an island in the Mediterranean Sea and one of the 18 regions of France. It is the fourth-largest island in the Mediterranean and lies southeast of the French mainland, west of the Italian Peninsula and immediately north of the Italian island of Sardinia, which is the land mass nearest to it. Aregno
Aregno ( co, Aregnu) is a commune in the Haute-Corse department on the island of Corsica, France. The village was previously part of the ''piève'' of ''Aregnu'' in the former Genovese province of Balagna. The inhabitants of the commune are known as ''Aregnais'' or ''Aregnaises'' The commune has been awarded three flowers by the ''National Council of Towns and Villages in Bloom'' in the ''Competition of cities and villages in Bloom''. Geography Aregno is located immediately to the east of Algajola and extends from west to east between Algajola, Lavatoggio, Cateri, Sant'Antonino, Pigna, and Corbara. Its highest point is 326 metres above sea level and it has a total area of some 930 hectares. Access to the commune is by National Route N197 from Algajola in the west and continuing to Corzo to the north-east. Antisanti
Antisanti (in Corsican ''Antisanti'', pronounced ̃ŋ.ti.ˈzɑ̃ːŋ.ti is a commune in the Haute-Corse (Upper Corsica) department of France on the island of Corsica. The inhabitants of the commune are known as ''Antisantais'' or ''Antisantaises''. Geography Antisanti is a landlocked commune on the eastern side of Corsica overlooking the eastern plain of the island some 80 km south of Bastia and 12 km west by north-west of Aléria. It belonged to the ancient Pieve of Rogna and is now part of the ''Rogna in La'' micro-region located on the right bank of the Tavignano extending from Vivario to the plain. Access to the commune is by the minor road D43 from Aléria in the east passing through the heart of the commune and the village before continuing west to join the D143 south-east of Santo-Pietro-di-Venaco. Ampriani
Ampriani is a commune in the Haute-Corse department on the island of Corsica, France. Geography Ampriani is a commune on the eastern side of Corsica in the heart of the Pieve (religious jurisdiction) in the Serra in the canton of Moita Verde. It is 30 km by road north-west from Aleria and significantly less in a direct line and 16 km south-west of Moïta in the Valley of the Cursigliese. Access is by the D116 road from Tallone in the south-east which continues north of the village north-west to Zuani. Ampriani is a small village of a single row of houses with a watchtower aligned on a ridge at an altitude of about 600 metres (lowest point 320 m, highest point: 749 m) overlooking the valley and almost the entire plain. Altiani
Altiani () is a commune in the Haute-Corse department of France on the island of Corsica. Geography Location Altiani is a commune in the ''Rogna in Quà'' microregion consists of cliff villages in the valley of Tavignano. The village overlooks both the plain of Aleria and Corte as well as Venaco and therefore enjoys a remarkable panorama, very extensive and varied, over central mountain chain as well as the Tyrrhenian Sea. Relief The commune covers 1,829 hectares in the lower Tavignano valley. The river flows through its territory for 5 km before joining the Vecchio downstream in the ''Gasprese'' area. 300 metres upstream of the Genovese bridge on the N200 highway, the river is fed by the Limone stream whose source is under the Punta di Mangaio (1030 m - Sant'Andréa-di-Bozio). Algajola
Algajola is a commune in the Haute-Corse department of France on the island of Corsica. The inhabitants of the commune are known as ''Algajolais'' or ''Algajolaises'' Geography Algajola is a commune on the Balagne coast between Calvi, 12 km to the west, and Ile Rousse, 10 km to the East. It is one of 19 communes in the Canton of Belgodère and not to those of Calvi or Ile Rousse as its location would suggest. It is part of the arrondissement of Calvi. Relief The commune occupies a small area of 172 hectares on the coast bisected by small hills oriented north-south, the highest is a "saddle" straddling Algajola and Aregno which rises to 288m. Albertacce (; in Corsican ''E Lupertacce'', pronounced ) is a commune in the Haute-Corse department in the Corsica region of France. Aiti
Aiti (in Corsican ''Àiti'', pronounced aː.i.di is a commune in the Haute-Corse department of France on the island of Corsica. The inhabitants of the commune are known as ''Aïtinchi''. Geography Aiti is some 15 km north of Corte and about 25 km inland from the east coast of Corsica. The Highway N193 from Corte goes north passing near the eastern border of the commune however the commune can only be accessed from this side by the D39 from Francardo a tortuous and circuitous road. The commune can also be accessed from the eastern side from San-Lorenzo on the Highway D39 which has a small connecting road across a bridge to the D39 road which enters the commune from the south and is another tortuous and circuitous route to the village of Aiti. Other than some short mountain access roads there are no other roads in the commune.
