Committees Of The Verkhovna Rada
Committees of the Verkhovna Rada ( uk, Комітети Верховної Ради України) are the Verkhovna Rada (the parliament of Ukraine) legislative panels of experts that work for implementation of legislation in specialized fields, preparation and preliminary review of issues attributed to authority of as well as performing control functions. The parliament of Ukraine adopts certain number of committees at each new convocation as well as their names and competence. It also establishes the maximum number of individuals that may be part of each individual committee. Until 1997 committees of the Supreme Council of Ukraine were known as permanent commissions. Over the years the number of committees varied between 23 and 29. The biggest committees are the Committee on Taxation and Customs Policy, Committee of the Supreme Council of Ukraine on issues of budget, Budget Committee and the Committee of Agrarian Policy and Land Relations. The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine ( uk, Верхо́вна Ра́да Украї́ни, translit=, Verkhovna Rada Ukrainy, translation=Supreme Council of Ukraine, Ukrainian abbreviation ''ВРУ''), often simply Verkhovna Rada or just Rada, is the Wikt:Unicameralism, unicameral parliament of Ukraine. ''Ukrainska Pravda'' ( uk, Українська правда, lit=Ukrainian Truth) is a Ukrainian online newspaper founded by Georgiy Gongadze on 16 April 2000 (the day of the Ukrainian constitutional referendum). The Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on issues of budget ( uk, Комітет Верховної Ради України з питань бюджету, ) or simply, the Budget Committee ( uk, Бюджетний комітет, ) is a standing committee of the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's unicameral parliament. The committee is one of the largest in the parliament's 8th convocation, consisting of 27 people's deputies. Its entire composition was approved on December 4, 2014. It was created on June 28, 1990 during the twelfth convocation of the Verkhovna Rada of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic (first convocation of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine) as the "Permanent Commission of the Verkhovna Rada of the Ukrainian SSR on issues of planning, budget, finances and prices" ( uk, Комісія з питань планування, бюджету, фінансів і цін).
