Comarca De Alcalá
Comarca de Alcalá is an historical ''comarca'' of Castile, located in what is now the east of the Community of Madrid, in Spain. Its head or capital city is Alcalá de Henares. Officially the Community of Madrid is not subdivided into formal ''comarcas''; however, informally some governmental institutions have defined some shires according to different views. The shire of Alcalá doesn't figure in any of these partitions. The territory is made up by two natural sub-shires, La Campiña and Alcarria de Alcalá. Etymology Its name comes from the Arabic القلعة (Al-Qal'at) whose means "the castle", referring to the first of the Muslim castles placed along the banks of the Henares River The Henares () is a river in Spain, tributary of the Jarama. Nuevo Baztán
Nuevo Baztán is a municipality southeast of Madrid, near Alcalá de Henares, Spain. It consists of a small historic centre and modern housing estates. The historic centre was designed as an industrial and housing complex laid out on a grid plan. It was promoted and developed by the prominent politician and publisher Juan de Goyeneche (1656–1735). History Nuevo Baztán was founded around 1709 in a mercantalist initiative to promote industrial development in Spain. The site chosen belonged to a locality called Olmeda. The name of the new development refers to the Goyeneche family's home town, Baztan in Navarre. Much of the construction was performed by Agotes imported from Navarre. The town housed factories producing among other things munitions and glassware. Mejorada Del Campo
Mejorada del Campo is a municipality of Spain belonging to the Community of Madrid. History Mejorada del Campo is first mentioned in a 1247 document, as one of the several places belonging to the personal lordship of the Bishops of Segovia south of the Sistema Central. Domenico Monardo (born November 29, 1939), known as Meco, is an American record producer and musician, as well as the name of his band or production team. Meco is best known for his 1977 space disco version of the ''Star Wars'' theme from his album '' Star Wars and Other Galactic Funk''; both the single and album were certified platinum in the US. Early life and education Meco Monardo was born in Johnsonburg, Pennsylvania, United States, to parents of Italian descent.
