Colin O'Reilly
Colin O'Reilly (born 30 January 1984) is an Irish basketball coach and former player. He played Division III college basketball for Post University in the United States in the early 2000s and later represented the Irish national team as both a player and as a player-coach. Professional career On 26 March 2015, O'Reilly was named an inaugural Premier League All-Star First Pick alongside UCC Demons teammates Kyle Hosford and Lehmon Colbert. Three days later, he helped Demons create Irish basketball history by winning the Champions Trophy and adding to their undefeated 2014–15 season. With a 24–0 record, the team also won the League and National Cup titles. In addition, O'Reilly earned Champions Trophy MVP honours after scoring 25 points in the final. 3x3 basketball (pronounced ''three-ex-three'') is a variation of basketball played three-a-side, with one backboard and in a half-court setup. According to an ESSEC Business School study commissioned by the International Olympic Committee, 3x3 is the largest urban team sport in the world. The Ireland men's national basketball team ( ga, Foireann cispheile náisiúnta na hÉireann) represents the island of Ireland in international basketball. The COVID-19 pandemic in the Republic of Ireland is part of the worldwide pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). The 2020–21 Irish Super League season was to be the 48th running of Basketball Ireland's premier men's basketball competition. The season was set to feature 12 teams from across the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. In July 2020, it was announced that just for the 2020–21 season, teams would compete in a conference system. The season was set to begin on 17 October 2020, but on the eve of the season opener, all games were postponed indefinitely due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
