Colin Clark (economist)
Colin Grant Clark (2 November 1905 – 4 September 1989) was a British and Australian economist and statistician who worked in both the United Kingdom and Australia. He pioneered the use of gross national product (GNP) as the basis for studying national economies. Early years Colin Clark was born in London in 1905 and was educated at the Dragon School in Oxford, then at Winchester College. He subsequently attended Brasenose College, Oxford, where he graduated in chemistry in 1928. After graduation he worked as a research assistant with William Beveridge at the London School of Economics (1928–29) and then with Sir Alexander Carr-Saunders and Allyn Young at the University of Liverpool (1929–30). During this time he ran unsuccessful campaigns to be elected to parliament for the Labour Party in the constituency of North Dorset (1929), and later at Liverpool Wavertree (1931) and South Norfolk (1935). Colin Clark (9 October 1932 – 17 December 2002) was a British writer and filmmaker who specialised in films about the arts, for cinema and television. Family and early life He was the son of the art historian Kenneth Clark, and the younger brother of the Conservative politician and military historian Alan Clark, with whom he was not always on good terms. Born in London, he was educated at Eton College and Christ Church, Oxford. From 1951 to 1953, he did national service as a pilot officer in the Royal Air Force. In that capacity, he flew the Handley Page Hastings aircraft to Malaya and the Middle East. Colin James Clark (born 20 May 1969) is a Scottish politician who served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Gordon from 2017 to 2019. He is a member of the Scottish Conservatives. Early life Clark was educated at Turriff Academy, a comprehensive school and Heriot-Watt University. He worked in business and agriculture until his election to the House of Commons. Political career During the 2015 UK general election campaign, Clark's Scottish National Party opponent in Gordon, Alex Salmond, recorded in his diary: "The Tory candidate, Colin Clark, cuts an impressive figure but his politics are far too dry for this area. Colin Clark (April 11, 1984 – August 26, 2019) was an American soccer player who played as a left winger. Career College and amateur Clark played college soccer at Southern Methodist University for two years from 2002 to 2004, and in 2005 he played for the Boulder Rapids Reserve team in the USL Premier Development League. Professional Colorado Rapids In February 2006 he officially signed a developmental contract with Colorado Rapids, and was with the team until 2010. The NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championships is the annual golf tournament, typically played in mid-May, to determine the team and individual national champions of men's collegiate golf in the United States. It has been played annually since 1975, when it split-away from the NCAA College Division Men's Golf Championships when the NCAA split into its current three-division structure. It is a stroke play team competition, but there is also an award for the lowest scoring individual competitor.
