Eileen Colgan Simpson (2 January 1934 – 10 March 2014) was an Irish theatre, television and film actress. She was best known for her recurring role as Esther Roche on the RTÉ One soap opera, ''Fair City''. She also appeared in the RTÉ television drama, ''Glenroe'', as Mynah, the housekeeper of the priest. Gerry Colgan (20 June 1951 – 5 February 2011) was a Scottish amateur football left back and left winger who made over 140 appearances in the Scottish League for Queen's Park. He also played for Clydebank, Hamilton Academical and East Stirlingshire. John Colgan, OFM (Irish ''Seán Mac Colgan''; c. 1592 – 15 January 1658), was an Irish Franciscan friar noted as a hagiographer and historian. Life Colgan was born c. 1592 at Priestown near Carndonagh. He joined the Franciscan Order and was sent to study in the Irish Franciscan College of St. Anthony of Padua in Leuven (Irish: ''Lúbhán'', French and historically in English: ''Louvain'') in present-day Belgium in 1612. He was ordained as a priest in 1618. Here he is said to have acted as professor of theology for some time, but he soon forsook the professorial chair to devote himself to the Irish studies for which that college was famous. Nicholas Vincent Colgan (born 19 September 1973) is an Irish football coach and former professional footballer who is goalkeeping coach at EFL League Two side Stockport County. As a player, he was a goalkeeper from 1991 to 2013 and first briefly played for his hometown club Drogheda United between 1991 and 1992 before signing for Premier League side Chelsea. Stevyn Colgan (born 11 August 1961) is a British writer, artist and speaker. Colgan was a police officer in London 1980-2010. He was then a researcher and scriptwriter for the BBC TV series QI and the regular QI Annuals, and for QI's BBC Radio 4 sister show The Museum of Curiosity until 2018. He co-presents the ''We'd Like A Word'' books and authors podcast. Career Police Colgan joined the Metropolitan Police Force in 1980.
