The Rural Municipality of Coldwell is located in the Interlake Region of the province of Manitoba in Western Canada. The principal community within the boundaries is Lundar. History The rural municipality was named for George Robson Coldwell, a member of the provincial legislature from 1907 to 1915. It was incorporated on November 19, 1912. Under the province's ''Municipal Act'' of 1997, an area must have a minimum population of 1,000 and a density of less than to incorporate as a rural municipality. Rural Municipality Of Armstrong
Armstrong is a rural municipality in the province of Manitoba in Western Canada. It lies in the southern area of the Interlake and was named after James William Armstrong, a Manitoba politician. History The surrounding area was settled by immigrants from western Ukraine at the start of the 20th century. Amongst the original settlers were Michael Pomaransky and Stefan Humeny who settled section 14-19-2E, approximately ten miles west of the community of Gimli. A sizeable community developed as these settlers were joined in the year 1900 by other individuals from the village of Kopychentsi, Ukraine. History The RM was incorporated on January 1, 2015, via the amalgamation of the RMs of Eriksdale and Siglunes. The 2021 Canadian census was a detailed enumeration of the Canadian population with a reference date of May 11, 2021. It follows the 2016 Canadian census, which recorded a population of 35,151,728. The overall response rate was 98%, which is slightly lower than the response rate for the 2016 census. It recorded a population of 36,991,981, a 5.2% increase from 2016.
