Nigel De Brulier
Nigel De Brulier (born Francis George Packer; 8 August 1877 – 30 January 1948) was an English stage and film actor who began his career in the United Kingdom before relocating to the United States. Biography De Brulier was born in Frenchay, a suburb of Bristol on August 8, 1877 as Francis George Packer, the son of James Packer, a Gloucestershire coachman, and his wife Louisa Packer (née Field). De Brulier launched his career as an actor and singer on the stage in his native country and transferred to the American stage after moving to Canada and then to the United States in 1898. In the 1900 U.S. census he was recorded as Francis G. Packer, butler, in a private household in Denver, Colorado. His first film role was a poet in ''The Pursuit of the Phantom'' in 1914. In 1915 he acted in the film ''Ghosts'' based on a play by Henrik Ibsen. William Steele (actor)
William Anton Gittinger (March 28, 1888 – February 13, 1966), best known as William Steele, was an American actor of small roles in Westerns, particularly those of John Ford. Biography Although his screen credits and many records indicate a wide variety of names and spellings, Steele's own signatures on his military documents indicate that he was born William Anton Gittinger on March 28, 1888 (not 1889, as some sources have it) in San Antonio, Texas. Little is known of his life prior to his arrival in Los Angeles around 1910. As the film industry in Hollywood was just blossoming, and as he apparently had great experience with horses, Steele easily obtained work in quickie Westerns. He fought in Europe in World War I, then returned to Hollywood. While he was extremely inconsistent in the names he used, he worked consistently in Westerns throughout the silent era and up until the 1950s. Elinor Virginia Martin ('' née'' Crowe; December 21, 1903 – April 26, 1957), known professionally as Elinor Fair, was an American motion picture actress. Early years Elinor Virginia Crowe was born on December 21, 1903, in Richmond, Virginia, to Harry Joseph Crowe, a salesman, and Helen Snowden Jones. Her older brother Donald died in 1904 just four months short of his third birthday. During her childhood her family relocated multiple times. Fair attended high school in Greenwich, Connecticut, and developed an interest in interpretive dancing. Career When Fair was elected a WAMPAS Baby Star in 1924, she had already been in films for a number of years, and in vaudeville before that. She did some of her best work under contract to Cecil B. DeMille, appearing in such productions as ''Yankee Clipper'' and ''Let 'er go Gallagher''.
