Cobb And Co
Cobb & Co was the name used by many successful sometimes quite independent Australian coaching businesses. The first was established in 1853 by American Freeman Cobb and his partners. The name Cobb & Co grew to great prominence in the late 19th century, when it was carried by many stagecoaches carrying passengers and mail to various Australian goldfields, and later to many regional and remote areas of the Australian outback. The same name was used in New Zealand and Freeman Cobb used it in South Africa. Although the Queensland branch of the company made an effort to transition to automobiles in the early 20th century, high overhead costs and the growth of alternative transport options for mail, including rail and air, saw the final demise of Cobb & Co. Castlemaine, Victoria

Walter Russell Hall
Walter Russell Hall (22 February 1831 – 13 October 1911) was an Australian businessman and philanthropist. Biography Hall was born in Kington, Herefordshire, England, eldest son of Walter Hall, glover (later a miller), and his wife Elizabeth Carleton, ''née'' Skarratt. He was educated in Kington and Taunton, Somerset. Hall arrived in Sydney on 14 February 1852 with his two brothers, Thomas Skarratt Hall and James Wesley Hall with little money. Hall was employed for a short time by David Jones Limited and then prospected for gold in Victoria with meagre success. From 1857 he was a major investor and administrator of the Australian stagecoach line Cobb and Co. He was also an original shareholder and director of Mount Morgan Gold Mining Company Limited, incorporated in 1886. Other directorships included the Mercantile Mutual Insurance Co. The ''Balonne Beacon'' was a newspaper published in St George, Shire of Balonne, Queensland, Australia from 1878 to 2020. It was originally called the ''St. George Standard and Balonne Advertiser''. History The first issue of the ''St. George Standard and Balonne Advertiser'' appeared on 10 July 1878. A fire destroyed the office and printery on 2 September 1905 and it was replaced by the ''Balonne Beacon'', whose first issue was published on 4 October 1905. The ''Balonne Beacon'' also absorbed the ''Maranoa News'' on 7 July 1955. William Norman Dendle and Eva Dendle ran the paper from 1936 to 1971; and it was purchased in October 1971 by Max and Rada Pringle, who ran it for twenty-two years until the end of 1993. Nyngan () is a town in the centre of New South Wales, Australia, in the Bogan Shire local government area within the Orana Region of central New South Wales. At the 2016 census, Nyngan had a population of 1,988 people. Nyngan is situated on the Bogan River between Narromine and Bourke, on the junction of the Mitchell Highway and Barrier Highway, south of Charleville and north-west of Sydney by road.
