In the U.S. state of Georgia, the Cobb County Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department is the unit of Cobb county government which handles county parks, recreation facilities, and cultural affairs programs. Parks Eastern district *Bells Ferry Park is located on Bells Ferry Road, south of Barrett Parkway. State Route 120 (SR 120) is a state highway that runs west-to-east through portions of Haralson, Paulding, Cobb, Fulton, and Gwinnett counties in northwestern part of the U.S. state of Georgia. Kennesaw Mountain High School is a public high school located in Kennesaw, Cobb County, Georgia, United States. It was founded in 2000 as a magnet school specializing in science and mathematics, and is one of sixteen high schools in the Cobb County School District. History Students Kennesaw Mountain High School was founded in 2000. The high school, built on a site, was intended to have a capacity of 2,000 students, but due to the rapid population growth in Cobb County, the school quickly became overcrowded. Before the school was built, juniors, as opposed to freshman and sophomores, from Harrison High School (the main output) were given the choice whether to stay at their current school or change to Kennesaw Mountain. Nickajack Creek is a stream in Cobb and Fulton counties in the U.S. state of Georgia. It is a tributary to the Chattahoochee River. Groundwater serves as the water source, with the creek beginning in Marietta, Georgia. The creek runs through the city of Smyrna and terminates at the Chattahoochee River in the town of Mableton. Fair Oaks is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Cobb County, Georgia, United States. The population was 9,028 at the 2020 census. Fair Oaks lies just outside the city limits of Smyrna and Marietta, and the area uses "Smyrna" or "Marietta" for its mailing addresses. Except for actual residents of Fair Oaks, very few locals even know it exists as a separately-counted area. The name is also rarely used by local businesses, even in the immediate area. The area was named for its many mature native oak trees. Sweat Mountain
Sweat Mountain is a mountain in far northeastern Cobb County, Georgia, in the suburbs north of Atlanta. The exact GNIS location of its summit is , and it has an official (USGS) elevation of above mean sea level. It is the second-highest point in the county behind Kennesaw Mountain, and second in the core metro Atlanta area, behind Kennesaw Mountain, which is also in Cobb County. It is fifth if the exurban counties further north are considered. This height has made the mountain very attractive for radio, having several transmitters, radio towers, and antennas, for pagers, cellphones, broadcasting, and amateur radio. The fact that Stone Mountain and Kennesaw Mountain are both protected as parks has led to a proliferation of technology at the top.
