Clova (virtual Assistant)
Clova is an intelligent personal assistant for Android and iOS operating systems developed by Naver Corporation and Line Corporation (a subsidiary of Naver). Clova, short for "cloud virtual assistant", was officially introduced on 1 March 2017. It was first launched in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store as intelligent personal assistant app. In August 2017, it was announced that the artificial intelligence platform would be used in their smart speaker series. The Wave speaker, released in Korea as Wave (sometimes referred to as Naver Wave) and in Japan as Line Wave for the Korean and Japanese markets), is the first smart speaker that uses Clova. The Friends speaker (or Clova Wave in Japan), a LINE Friends character themed speaker, was the second smart speaker powered by the platform. The Naver Corporation is a South Korean internet conglomerate headquartered in Seongnam that operates the search engine Naver. Wave (smart Speaker)
Wave (stylized as Clova WAVE in Japan or WAVE in Korea) is a smart speaker developed by Naver Corporation and Line Corporation (a subsidiary of Naver). Wave was the first speaker to be powered by intelligent personal assistant Clova. The product has a cylindrical shape with colored status LEDs on the top and bottom of the device and touch buttons on the top. Voice commands is currently only available in Japanese and Korean. Launched in July 2017, Wave was promoted with Line Music as a bundle package in Japan. In August 2017, Wave was launched in Korea. Just like other similar smart speakers, Wave are capable of doing tasks such as reading text messages, creating memos, online shopping, calling taxis and controlling home appliances. Celia is an artificially intelligent virtual assistant developed by Huawei for their latest HarmonyOS and Android-based EMUI smartphones that lack Google Services and a Google Assistant. Friends (stylized as Clova Friends in Japan) is a LINE character-themed smart speaker developed by Naver Corporation and Line Corporation (a subsidiary of Naver). The device is the second smart speaker that is powered by intelligent personal assistant Clova. Introduced in December 2017, Friends has a cylindrical shape and has the appearance of the characters in LINE Friends – Brown the bear and Sally the chick, providing two versions – Friends BROWN and Friends SALLY. The "Action" button, which activates the device, is placed on the nose of the character, while a LED indicator and other buttons such as volume and bluetooth settings are placed on the back.
