Clock (American Band)
Clock is a rock band featuring Def Leppard guitarist Vivian Campbell and former No Sweat member P.J. Smith, who sang backing vocals on Def Leppard's cover of the Sweet song "Action" on Def Leppard's ''Retro Active'' (1993) album. Clock's album ''Through Time'' (1998) features the original version of "To Be Alive", which is featured on Def Leppard's ''Euphoria'' (1999) album. Def Leppard
Def Leppard are an English rock band formed in 1976 in Sheffield. Since 1992, the band has consisted of Rick Savage (bass, backing vocals), Joe Elliott (lead vocals), Rick Allen (drums, backing vocals), Phil Collen (guitar, backing vocals), and Vivian Campbell (guitar, backing vocals). They established themselves as part of the new wave of British heavy metal movement of the early 1980s. The band's greatest commercial success came between the early 1980s and the early 1990s. Their first album, 1980's ''On Through the Night'', reached the Top 15 in the UK but received little notice elsewhere. Vivian Campbell
Vivian Patrick Campbell (born 25 August 1962) is a Northern Irish guitarist. He came to prominence in the early 1980s as a member of Dio (band), Dio, and has been a member of Def Leppard since 1992 (replacing Steve Clark after his death). Campbell has also worked with Thin Lizzy, Whitesnake, Sweet Savage (Irish band), Sweet Savage, Trinity, Riverdogs, and Shadow King (band), Shadow King. Biography Campbell began playing guitar at the age of 12 with a Fender Telecaster Thinline, Telecaster Thinline and Carlsbro Stingray amp. When he was 15, Campbell joined Teaser, which went on to become Sweet Savage, a new wave of British heavy metal, NWOBHM band. In 1981 they released an EP consisting of four BBC Radio sessions and their first single, "Take No Prisoners". No Sweat were an Irish rock band, active during the late 1980s and early 1990s. They are best remembered for their single "Heart and Soul" ( produced by the Def Leppard frontman Joe Elliott), which topped the Irish Singles Chart for two weeks in June 1989. Singles Following "Heart and Soul" reaching number one in 1989, the group had two further Irish hits in 1990 with "Tear Down the Walls" (No. 4) and "On the Edge" (No. 11). 1990 also saw the release of their self-titled debut album, which was produced by Keith Olsen for Pogo Logo Corp., and was recorded at the Goodnight L.A. studio in Van Nuys, California, United States. The Sweet
The Sweet (often shortened to just Sweet), are a British glam rock band that rose to prominence in the 1970s. Their best known line-up consisted of lead vocalist Brian Connolly, bass player Steve Priest, guitarist Andy Scott, and drummer Mick Tucker. The group were originally called The Sweetshop. The band were formed in London in 1968 and achieved their first hit, " Funny Funny", in 1971 after teaming up with songwriters Nicky Chinn and Mike Chapman and record producer Phil Wainman. During 1971 and 1972, their musical style followed a marked progression from the Archies-like bubblegum style of "Funny Funny" to a Who-influenced hard rock style supplemented by a striking use of high-pitched backing vocals. ''Retro Active'' is a compilation album by the English rock band Def Leppard, released in 1993. The album features touched-up versions of B-sides and previously unreleased recordings from the band's recording sessions from 1984 to 1993. The album charted at number 9 on the ''Billboard'' 200 and No. 6 on the UK Albums Chart. Overview After releasing only five albums over the course of a twelve-year period, Def Leppard used ''Retro Active'' to break that habit, provide a treat for diehard fans, and close the door on the " Steve Clark" era of the band. Many of the tracks had previously been released as single B-sides. According to singer Joe Elliott, the concept behind the album was envisioned after the success of the "Two Steps Behind" single. ''Euphoria'' is the seventh studio album by English rock band Def Leppard, released on 8 June 1999 in the United States and on 14 June 1999 in the United Kingdom by Mercury Records. The album aimed to return to their signature sound made famous by the band in the 1980s. It was produced by the band with Pete Woodroffe. Mark Schulman (born September 4, 1961 in Los Angeles, California) is an American musician and corporate speaker. He performed with Cher as her tour drummer on her D2K Tour. Schulman is also a session drummer as well as a music producer, audio engineer and co-owner of West Triad Studios, a recording venue located in Venice, California. Childhood and education Schulman was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. Schulman claims that at age 3, after seeing the Beatles perform on ''The Ed Sullivan Show'', he knew he wanted to be a professional drummer and musician.
