Clipper
A clipper was a type of mid-19th-century merchant sailing vessel, designed for speed. Clippers were generally narrow for their length, small by later 19th century standards, could carry limited bulk freight, and had a large total sail area. "Clipper" does not refer to a specific sailplan; clippers may be schooners, brigs, brigantines, etc., as well as full-rigged ships. Clippers were mostly constructed in British and American shipyards, although France, Brazil, the Netherlands and other nations also produced some. Clippers sailed all over the world, primarily on the trade routes between the United Kingdom and China, in transatlantic trade, and on the New York-to-San Francisco route around Cape Horn during the California Gold Rush. Columbus Clippers
The Columbus Clippers are a Minor League Baseball team of the International League (IL) and the Triple-A (baseball), Triple-A affiliate of the Cleveland Guardians. They are located in Columbus, Ohio, and are named for speedy Merchant ship, merchant Sailing ship, sailing vessels known as clippers. Nissan Clipper
The Nissan Clipper is an car model, automobile nameplate by Nissan that has been used for two separate commercial vehicle ranges of kei truck, ''kei'' trucks in Japan. Originally, this was just a rebadged version of Prince Motor Company, Prince's "Clipper" light/medium duty commercial vehicle range. In 2003, the nameplate was revived for a rebadged version of the Mitsubishi Minicab, a kei truck/microvan provided in an OEM deal. The Clipper truck/van received its facelift on 2012 and renamed the NT100 Clipper (truck) and NV100 Clipper (van). Clipper and Michigan were the name of an early steam car built in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1901 and 1902. History The first car designed by Byron C. Carter and placed on the market was the Michigan steam car. Occasionally called the Carter Steam Stanhope, it was a small car with a victoria top, tufted leather seat and a grained leather dash. Lever steered it sported 32-inch wire wheels, and the price complete was $1,000 (). The car was built only in 1901, by the Michigan Automobile Company at 45 Monroe Street in Grand Rapids. The Packard Clipper is an automobile which was built by the Packard Motor Car Company (and by the later Studebaker-Packard Corporation) for model years 1941–1942, 1946–1947 and 1953–1957. For 1956 only, Clipper was classified as a stand-alone marque. The Clipper was introduced in April 1941, as a mid-model year entry. It was available only as a four-door sedan. The Clipper name was re-introduced in 1953, for the automaker's lowest-priced line up. By 1955, the Clipper models were seen as diluting Packard's marketing as a luxury automobile marque. Spartan Clipper
The Spartan Clipper was a British light touring aeroplane of the 1930s. It was a single-engine, two-seat, low-wing monoplane with a fixed tailwheel undercarriage. Development H.E. Broadsmith designed the Clipper as a two-seater; he employed the outer wings of the Monospar ST-4. Spartan Aircraft Limited built one example at their East Cowes works in 1932. The aeroplane was initially fitted with a 75-hp Pobjoy R motor. Registered ''G-ACEG'' it flew for the first time on 14 December 1932. After modification to undercarriage, cabin glazing and cowling, it received a Certificate of Airworthiness on 29 June 1933. In 1933 the Clipper was raced in the King's Cup Race.
