Clifton Heights, Louisville
Clifton Heights is a neighborhood two miles east of downtown Louisville, Kentucky USA. It was named because of its hilly location atop a ridge about 100 feet above the Ohio River floodplain, overlooking the adjacent community of Clifton. Though first planned in the 1890s as Summit Park, actual growth didn't begin until after World War I when automobiles made the hilly area accessible. Clifton Heights has had an African American presence since its founding, in 2000 they accounted for 21% of the population. Housing stock includes a variety of styles and time frames, from older shotgun houses and bungalows to suburban ranch homes built in the 1970s. Louisville's CBS television affiliate WLKY is located in Clifton Heights. A major production factory for Fischer's meats was located in the area for many decades before being relocated to Owensboro, Kentucky. The former factory building is now an arts and community center. CUF, Cincinnati
CUF is a neighborhood in Cincinnati, Ohio. Its name is derived from the communities of Clifton Heights, University Heights, and Fairview. CUF is bordered by the neighborhoods of Clifton, the Heights, Mount Auburn, Over-the-Rhine, and Camp Washington. University Heights occupies the northern area of CUF, and is separated from Fairview and Clifton Heights by Straight Street. Fairview occupies the south-west corner and Clifton Heights the south-east corner of CUF. Fairview and Clifton Heights are separated by Ravine Street; Fairview on the west, Clifton Heights on the east. The population was 20,385 in the 2020 Census. The term "CUF" is rarely, if ever, used by locals. Although inaccurate, these neighborhoods, along with Corryville, are often referred to as being part of Clifton, even by long-term residents. Clifton Heights is a borough in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, United States, located on Darby Creek west of downtown Philadelphia. As of the 2010 census the population was 6,652. History The population of the borough was 1,820 in 1890, 3,155 in 1910, and reached a maximum of 10,268 in 1960. Clifton Heights is the birthplace of the glam rock band Cinderella. Clifton Heights is the home of Rosati Water Ice, the first Italian ice company in the US. Geography Clifton Heights is located in eastern Delaware County at (39.929062, -75.295760).
