Clementina Tompkins
Clementina M. G. Tompkins (c. 1848 – November 9, 1931) was an American painter. Tompkins was born in Washington, D.C., to a family with roots in Virginia; through her father she was the niece of Sally Louisa Tompkins, in whose will she was remembered. Much of her professional career was spent in France, where she attended the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts and studied with Léon Bonnat. She showed work at the salons of Paris and Brussels, and at the Centennial Exposition in Philadelphia. She also sent work back to the United States for exhibition on other occasions. Tompkins favored Italian subjects for her paintings; she also produced portraits and figure pieces during her career. She spent time working in New York City later in her career. One source claims she died in that city; another states that she died in the city of her birth, where she is buried in the Oak Hill Cemetery. Clementina Suárez (12 May 1902 – 1991) was an early Honduran writer, who broke social norms. She was the first woman to publish a book of poetry in Honduras and is now recognized as the 'Honduran matriarch poet'. Clementina Robertson
Clementina Robertson (1795 – 1853?) was an Irish miniature-painter. Life Clementina Robertson was born in 1795 in Dublin. Her father was the miniature-painter, Charles Robertson, and she was trained by him. Her uncle was another miniature-painter, Walter Robertson. As a competent artist, she painted in the style of her father, and exhibited with the Society of Artists from 1812 to 1817. In 1830 she married John Siree, a medical student. He died of a fever in 1835. She was able to support herself through her miniature-portrait painting, further supplementing her finances by teaching languages, music, and drawing. In 1826 she exhibited five portraits with the Royal Hibernian Academy, and a further three in 1828. At this time her address was listed as Summerhill, Dublin. Clementina Rind (c. 1740–September 25, 1774) was a Colonial American woman who is known as being the first female newspaper printer and publisher in Virginia. Living and working in Williamsburg, Virginia, she took the printing press established by her husband, William Rind, after his death in 1773. Clementina continued to print ''The Virginia Gazette'' and also published Thomas Jefferson's tract '' A Summary View of the Rights of British America.'' Clementina Poto Langone (1896–1964) was a civic leader from the North End of Boston who is remembered for her service to the Italian-American community. During the Great Depression she was known as a "Good Samaritan" who distributed food and clothing to the poor and advocated for them politically. As a member of the Massachusetts Board of Immigration and Americanization, she helped hundreds of Italian immigrants assimilate and obtain U.S. citizenship. She served as vice chairman of the Massachusetts Democratic State Committee and as an alternate delegate to the Democratic National Convention. Clementina Maude, Viscountess Hawarden (née Elphinstone Fleeming; 1 June 1822 – 19 January 1865), commonly known as Lady Clementina Hawarden, was a British amateur portrait photographer of the Victorian Era. She produced over 800 photographs mostly of her adolescent daughters. Family Clementina was born in Cumbernauld, North Lanarkshire on 1 June 1822, the third of five children of Admiral Charles Elphinstone Fleeming (1774–1840), and Catalina Paulina Alessandro (1800–1880). Her father served in the Colombian war of independence, the Venezuelan war of independence, as well as the Revolutionary and Napoleonic wars.
