City of Fire is a Canadian Heavy metal music, metal band formed in 2008. Members include vocalist Burton C. Bell of Fear Factory, bassist Byron Stroud from Fear Factory, Strapping Young Lad and Zimmers Hole, and drummer Bob Wagner of Econoline Crush. So far, the band has released two studio albums. History The band grew from the one-off reformation in 2008 of Caustic Thought, an early-1990s group featuring Stroud, guitarist Ian White, and drummer Bob Wagner (and, briefly, Devin Townsend, who replaced Jed Simon). As both Stroud's other main bands Fear Factory and Strapping Young Lad were disbanded or inactive at the time, thought was given to continuing with Caustic Thought and Sho Murray was added to the line-up as a second guitarist. Candlelight Records is a British record label based in England and founded by former Extreme Noise Terror bassist Lee Barrett, though it has had a division in the United States since January 2001. ''Trial Through Fire'' is the second album by City of Fire, the side project of Fear Factory vocalist Burton C. Bell alongside bassist Byron Stroud (Zimmers Hole, ex-3 Inches of Blood, ex-Fear Factory, ex-Strapping Young Lad), drummer Bob Wagner and guitarist/producer Terry "Sho" Murray. The CD was recorded at The Factory studios in Vancouver, Canada. Musical style The musical style consists of various rock genre fusions, fusing groove metal, experimental music, alternative rock, ambient music, and at times, extreme metal. The Cult
The Cult are an English rock band formed in 1983 in Bradford, West Yorkshire. Before settling on their current name in January 1984, the band performed under the name Death Cult, which was an evolution of the name of lead singer Ian Astbury's previous band Southern Death Cult. It was the second single from the band's second long-player, ''Love (The Cult album), Love'' (1985). Development The song was provisionally titled "Sad Rain" during its writing and recording stages, the lyrics being inspired the vocalist/frontman Ian Astbury's interest at that time in Native Americans in the United States, Northern Native American culture, and a rain dance of the Arizonan Hopi people. "Children of the Revolution" is a song by T. Rex, written by Marc Bolan. It was a UK No. 2 hit single in September 1972. The song broke their sequence of four official single releases all reaching No. 1 on the UK Singles Chart (" Hot Love", " Get It On", " Telegram Sam", " Metal Guru"). It did not receive a regular album release. Recording "Children of the Revolution" "Children of the Revolution" was first recorded at Ascot Sound Studios for the film '' Born to Boogie'', and featured Elton John on piano and Ringo Starr on a second drum kit. Byron Stroud
Byron Stroud (born February 12, 1969) is a Canadian bassist. He is the former bassist for metal bands Fear Factory, Imonolith and Strapping Young Lad, current bassist for metal bands City of Fire and Zimmers Hole, and studio bassist for 3 Inches of Blood. Biography Stroud has been involved in the Vancouver heavy music scene since the 1980s. His first serious band was Caustic Thought, who were formed in 1987, when he was only eighteen years old. The band also featured Jed Simon and Devin Townsend. Following Caustic Thought, he made his way to Front Line Assembly, joining them on the Hard Wired tour as a drum tech. Then he enrolled himself in the lineup for Strapping Young Lad. Although he was a staple member of Strapping Young Lad at the time, he joined Fear Factory as a full-time member in 2004. Robert C. Wagner (born May 16, 1947) is a former American football coach. He was the head football coach at the University of Hawaii from 1988 to 1995 and led the Rainbow Warriors to their first top 20 finish in 1992. Wagner graduated from Wittenburg University in 1969. He started as an assistant coach at Gallipolis High School in Ohio in 1969. In 1971, he became head coach at River View High School in Warsaw, Ohio and led the team to its then-best season ever at 8–2. He left River View after one season to become defensive coordinator at Muskingum University. In 1975, Wagner became assistant coach at the College of Wooster, then became an assistant at the University of Washington under Don James in 1976. Wagner became an assistant coach at Hawaii in 1977 under Larry Price, then was promoted to defensive coordinator under Dick Tomey in 1983.
