City Lads F.C. is a women's soccer club based in New Brighton, Eastern Cape. The team competes in the SAFA Women's League, the top tier women's football league in South Africa. Nomalungelo Mooi is the club's CEO. History In 2021, they were granted promotion into the Hollywoodbets Super League after finishing as finalists in the 2021 Sasol League National Championship. They lost 4-3 to Western Cape champions Vasco Da Gama in the final. They had previously won the 2021 Eastern Cape Sasol Women's League. The SAFA Women's League, known as Hollywoodbets Super League for sponsorship reasons, is the top flight of women's association football in South Africa. The competition is run by the South African Football Association. 2023 SAFA Women's League
The 2023 SAFA Women's League was the fourth season of the professional SAFA Women's League, and the 14th season of nation-wide league competition in women's football in South Africa. It was the 2nd season played with 16 teams. Teams The 2022 season Golden Ladies and Tsunami Queens FC were relegated to the Sasol National Championship, while Vasco Da Gama changed its name to TS Galaxy Queens after it was purchased by Tim Sukazi, who owns TS Galaxy FC. Bloemfontein Celtic changed its name to Royal AM after Shauwn Mkhize bought it. Two more teams joined the league. The University of Pretoria won the Sasol National Championship, while Copperbelt Ladies FC were the runners-up. Christo Vladimirov Javacheff (1935–2020) and Jeanne-Claude Denat de Guillebon (1935–2009), known as Christo and Jeanne-Claude, were artists noted for their large-scale, site-specific art, site-specific environmental art, environmental art installations, installations, often large landmarks and landscape elements wrapped in fabric, including the ''Wrapped Reichstag'', ''The Pont Neuf Wrapped'', ''Running Fence'' in California, and ''The Gates'' in New York City's Central Park.
