Circus In The Circus
''Circus in the Circus'' ( cs, Cirkus v cirkuse; russian: Соло для слона с оркестром) is a Czechoslovak-Soviet comedy film directed by Oldřich Lipský and released in 1976. The story takes place in the Big State Circus in Moscow where two international groups arrive simultaneously: a jury searching for outstanding numbers for the World Circus festival and a delegation of animal language scientists. Oldřich Lipský
Oldřich Lipský (4 July 1924 – 19 October 1986) was a Czech film director and screenwriter, brother of actor Lubomír Lipský. All his films were comedies, frequently employing themes of Dadaism, farce and magical realism. He was a frequent collaborator with actor Miloš Kopecký, who appeared in most of his works. Savely Kramarov
Savely Viktorovich Kramarov (russian: Саве́лий Ви́кторович Кра́маров; 13 October 1934 – 6 June 1995) was a Soviet, Russian and American actor. He acted in at least 42 Soviet films, and later appeared in several more after his immigration to the United States. Early life Savely Kramarov was born 13 October 1934 to Jewish parents: father Viktor Savelyevich Kramarov (Виктор Савельевич Крамаров), a prominent Moscow attorney, and mother Benedikta Solomonovna "Basya" Kramarova (née Volchek) (Бенедиктa Соломоновнa "Бася" Крамарова (Волчек)). Czechoslovakia submitted films for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film between 1964 and 1991 before splitting into the independent Czech and Slovakia republics in 1993. The award is handed out annually by the United States Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to a feature-length motion picture produced outside the United States that contains primarily non-English dialogue. Czechoslovak films received six Oscar nominations for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, two of which won the Oscar, namely the Slovak-language ''The Shop on Main Street'' and the Czech-language ''Closely Watched Trains'', both of which are black comedies set during World War II. This is a list of submissions to the 48th Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film. The Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film was created in 1956 by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to honour non-English-speaking films produced outside the United States. The award is handed out annually, and is accepted by the winning film's director, although it is considered an award for the submitting country as a whole. Countries are invited by the Academy to submit their best films for competition according to strict rules, with only one film being accepted from each country. For the 48th Academy Awards, twenty-one films were submitted in the category Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. Oldřich Velen, birth name Oldřich Volek (15 September 1921 in Brno-Tuřany – 4 May 2013) was a Czech actor. He is known from the successful television series '' Slovácko sa nesúdí'', after the books by Zdeněk Galuška where he played a major role (figure Jura Klásek) together with the popular actor Slovak Jozef Kroner. He also appeared in 5 episodes of '' Křeček v noční košili'' and 5 episodes of '' Arabela se vrací''. Velen played nearly 300 different film roles. Life and career Early life and theatre Filipovský was born on 23 September 1907 in the Czech town of Přelouč, then part of Austria-Hungary.
