''Cinta Dalam Sepotong Roti'' (English: ''Love in a Slice of Bread'') is a 1991 Indonesian road film directed by Garin Nugroho. The film was later adapted into a novel of the same title by an Indonesian novelist Fira Basuki and starred by Adjie Massaid, Monica Oemardi, Tio Pakusadewo and Rizky Erzet Teo. Subsequently, the film manage to earning a Citra Award for Best Film at the 1991 Indonesian Film Festival. Plot Mayang, Harris and Topan are good friends since childhood. Mayang, a columnist in a female magazine, has been married to Harris, a professional, while Topan is still single and a photographer. When Mayang and Harris go on a vacation to solve their sexual problem in their marriage. Topan is invited to join them. On the trip, the problems of the three friends unravel. Garin Nugroho
Garin Nugroho Riyanto (born 6 June 1961) is an Indonesian film director. Biography Nugroho was born in Yogyakarta, Special Region of Yogyakarta on 6 June 1961. He was the fourth child of postal workers Soetjipto Amin and Mariah, who eventually had seven children. As a child, he attended an Islamic elementary school, later attending Catholic secondary schools. His father owned a lending library and enjoyed writing, leading Nugroho to start writing from a young age; he later quit writing because he felt his father to be too critical. He also enjoyed exploring, and would bathe in the Code River fed by the cold lahar runoffs from Mount Merapi; he notes that the sulfur, which was brought to the river by the lava, was good for his skin. The Indonesian Film Festival (Indonesian: Festival Film Indonesia, 'FFI') is an annual awards ceremony organised by the Indonesian Film Board and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology to celebrate cinematic achievements in the Indonesian film industry. Fira Basuki (born June 7, 1972) is an Indonesian novelist. Arguably her most famous work is her trilogy debut consisting of ''Jendela-Jendela'' (''The Windows''), ''Pintu'' (''The Door'') and ''Atap'' (''The Roof''). The trilogy concerning the journeys of Javanese brother and sister Bowo and June; from graduating high school, studying abroad in the US, their meta-physical experiences (especially Bowo's "second sight" and aura-reading capabilities), relationships with people of different nationalities (especially June's Tibetan husband), and their return home to Indonesia.
