Ciarán Kelly (born 14 March 1980), is an Irish former professional footballer and head coach for Lusail SC in Qatar who played as a goalkeeper. He last played football for Sligo Rovers in the League of Ireland Premier Division until 2013. Early life He was born and went to primary school in Roundfort, a small parish near Ballinrobe, in south County Mayo. Career Kelly started his career with Ballinrobe Town before first moving to Sligo Rovers. He then had spells with Derry City, Athlone Town and Galway United before re-joining Sligo Rovers in 2009. On 14 November 2010 in the FAI Ford Cup final, Kelly saved four out of four penalties in a penalty shoot-out as Sligo beat Shamrock Rovers 2-0. On 6 November 2011 in the FAI Ford Cup final, Kelly saved two penalties in a penalty shoot-out as Sligo beat Shelbourne 4-1 after being sprung from the bench at the end of extra time. Ciarán Kelly (born 4 July 1998) is an Irish professional footballer who plays for EFL League Two club Bradford City. He previously played for St Patrick's Athletic, the club where he started his professional career. He has also spent one season at Drogheda United as well as 3 seasons with Bohemians, where he was loaned out to NIFL Premiership side Ballymena United for 6 months. Club career Early career Kelly started playing football with his local side in Lucan, Esker Celtic where he played from under 5's age group, right up to under 14's. He then played for Lucan United from 2012 to 2014 before moving to Peamount United where he caught the eye of St Patrick's Athletic scouts. 2010 FAI Cup Final
The 2010 FAI Cup Final was the final match of the 2010 FAI Cup competition and was contested by Sligo Rovers and Shamrock Rovers at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin on 14 November 2010. Shamrock Rovers were looking to complete the double of League and cup after winning the 2010 League of Ireland. Sligo Rovers won the cup 2–0 on penalties. The 2010 League of Ireland Cup, also known as the 2010 EA Sports Cup, was the 37th season of the League of Ireland knockout competition. The competition was won by Sligo Rovers who defeated Monaghan United in the final on 25 September 2010 at the Sligo Showgrounds. A total of 29 teams competed in the 2010 competition. The ten Premier Division, twelve First Division clubs were joined by five A Championship teams plus Letterkenny Rovers, the 2009 Ulster Senior League champions, and the Kerry District League representative side. For the Preliminary, First and Second Rounds of the competition, all participating clubs were split into 4 regional pools with the further rounds of the competition having an open draw. The League of Ireland Cup ( ga, Corn Sraithe na hÉireann), also referred to in Ireland as the 'League Cup', is an annual knockout competition in men's football in the Republic of Ireland. It is contested by League of Ireland clubs and invited clubs from the lower levels of the Republic of Ireland football league system. It has been sponsored by Electronic Arts and branded the EA Sports Cup since 2009. The competition began in 1973–74, replacing the League of Ireland Shield and the Dublin City Cup.
