Buildings The elaborate midblock church, located on 107th Street between Amsterdam Avenue and Broadway, has an attached parish house, both designed in the Romanesque Revival architecture, Sicilian Romanesque of the Norman and Byzantine hybrid style and built between 1896 and 1897 to the designs by the German—American Catholic church-building architectural firm of Schickel & Ditmars. Müller & Abel was an American firm founded in New York City which was notable in the field of building pipe organs. It operated from 1893 to 1902. History Oscar Müller and George Abel were German immigrants who had been employed by Roosevelt Organ Works, a firm founded by the brothers Frank and Hilborne Roosevelt, which was the preeminent pipe organ building company in the country from 1870 through 1893. When the Roosevelt firm ceased operations, Müller and Abel established their own factory in New York City, which was in operation until 1902.
