Church Of Mariahilf
The Church of Mariahilf is a Baroque parish church and the church of the Congregation of Saint Michael the Archangel (''Congregatio Sancti Michaëlis Archangeli'') in Vienna. It is located in Vienna's 6th district ( Mariahilf). The parish church of Mariahilf was built by Sebastiano Carlone in 1686–1689, but redesigned by Franz Jänggl (1711–1715). Interior The church has six chapels and is decorated with frescoes in '' trompe-l'œil'' made by Johann Hauzinger and Franz Xaver Strattmann in 1759–1760, pupils of Paul Troger. The altar was made by J. G. Dorfmeister. The organ was built in 1763 by the Austrian organ builder Johann Hencke (3 Dec 1697 Geseke- 24 September 1766 Vienna). Felix Czeike (21 August 1926 – 23 April 2006) was an Austrian historian and popular educator. He was an author and partly also editor of numerous publications on the history of Vienna and was the director of the . His main work is the six-volume ''Historische Lexikon Wien''. Life Czeike, born in Favoriten (10th district of Vienna), studied history, geography, German studies and art history at the University of Vienna and received his doctorate in philosophy in 1950. From 1954 he worked in the Vienna City and State Archives, and in 1976 took over their management, which he held until his retirement in 1989. In 1977 he founded the Vienna branch of the Ludwig Boltzmann Gesellschaft for urban history research, which was integrated into the City and State archives, and which he headed until his death. Antonio Maria Nicolao Beduzzi (1675–1735) was an Austrian-Italian theater engineer, painter, and architect who flourished in Vienna at the turn of the 17th century. He was born in Bologna in 1675.
